About this listen

If at first, you don't succeed....

For two years, Justice Turnbull has paced his room at Halo Valley Security Hospital, planning to escape. Justice has a mission - one that began with a vicious murder two decades ago. And there are so many others who must be sent back to the hell that spawned them.

Laura Adderley didn’t plan to get pregnant by her soon-to-be ex-husband, though she’ll do anything to protect her baby. But now reporter Harrison Frost is asking questions about the mysterious group of women who live at Siren Song lodge. Harrison hasn’t figured out Laura’s connection to the story yet. But Justice knows. And he is coming....

All her life, Laura has been able to sense approaching evil. But that won’t stop a psychopath bent on destroying her. Justice has been unleashed, and this time, there will be no place safe to hide....

The story was frustrating...The way she refused to go to the police..ever tell the truth to anyone and draw out the entire story got to be too much. Then the worst part was when it ended they didn't give us anything for the pain and suffering of having to listen to the book.

About 6 hours too long...

Great read/listen. Caught my attention. Now I'm reading "Wick Games", the first book.

I won't go into a long diatribe regarding this book and get straight to the point. All in all, a good storyline with strong characters. But the narrator made everyone but the main characters, childish, rude, angry with bad attitudes. The sarcastic tone she used was very irritating at times. If you can get past that, I think you'll enjoy the book.

Nice listen - somewhat irritating narrator

Don't listen to the review of Robert - Susan Ericksen is the best narrator you can come across, she's the absoulte queen of all different accents, characters, moods and everything. If there is one that can make a bad book (which this one certainly is not!!!) a great one - it's her! Just try it, you're gonna love her - and the story :-)

Best narrator ever!

I don’t know if I really enjoyed this book as much as I could have. Normally I read a book as a whole over a few days but this time it was bits and piece over three months. Just didn’t hold my attention .

Not her best but interesting over all.

Would you consider the audio edition of Wicked Lies to be better than the print version?

I don't know. Haven't read the print version.

What did you like best about this story?

Intrigue. Kept me wondering and wanting to keep listening.

What does Susan Ericksen bring to the story that you wouldn’t experience if you just read the book?

Susan Ericksen is great. The first search I do for an audio book is to find those narrated by Susan. I can listen to her voice all day!

Was there a moment in the book that particularly moved you?

No, not one moment. The entire story kept me reading.

Any additional comments?

I did not know this was the second book, until I finished Wicked Lies and started searching for another book by this author. I read reviews that say the first book is much better. But, I can't imagine that because I loved Wicked Lies. I will now read the first book!

Kept me listening; couldn't put it down

I actually listened to book 3 and really enjoyed it, I have listened to all 4 in the series and this one even though I enjoyed it
I was annoyed at the fact that when these 2 people were in danger they continually acted like they weren't
If you had a psycho killer after you then you wouldn't just go to work as a nurse oh the hospital is safe? Not believable
It's a shame cause it really has potential
Almost feels like they rushed the story line
I enjoyed the book but just found some of it ridiculous

Hard to believe

Which scene was your favorite?

didn't have any certain favorite scene I Enjoyed the Whole Story!

Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?

Would you say that listening to this book was time well-spent? Why or why not?

I wouldn't say the time listening was wasted, but I found the repetition of a few phrases to be a bit much. Especially the use of " released a breath she/he wasn't aware they were holding" It was used 3 times in the first 5 chapters, it got very annoying.

Have you listened to any of Susan Ericksen’s other performances before? How does this one compare?

I love Susan Ericksen's ability to put the right spin on emotions in her characters. I realize she's reading a story written by another but she seems to capture the drama very well.

Author needs to find a few new lines.
