About this listen

Baer Manning

What happens when Baer spills his big secret about monsters and magic to a total stranger?

Chaos.

In Baer’s defense, he really thought Wiley was a lost brother.

This case of mistaken identity forces the cute artist to stay at the plantation house for his own protection while they search for a way to take down a witch.

Wiley Stuart

He never should have gotten in Baer’s Jeep.

But in Wiley’s defense, Baer is really sexy. And funny. And so sweet. And did he mention sexy?

All his life he’d dreamed of superheroes and a life of action. He just never expected to find himself swept up into a world filled with monsters and goddesses.

Wiley will do anything to stay with this magical band of brothers and help them with their fight. He just wished he could be Baer’s soul mate.

Wild Warrior is the second book in the Weavers Circle series. It includes fast-paced action, running through Savannah, secrets, swimming pool fun, shapeshifting, an elephant, sexy times, lots of snakes, insecurity, three crazy old ladies, and magic!

Just keeps getting better!

The first book was focused on the foundations and Clay and Dane’s relationship. In this story, another Weaver is found. The best part of this book are the characters. From page one, you see Baer’s spontaneous, jump in with both feet before looking nature. Wiley is a genuine breath of fresh air- geeky comic book nerd thrown into something that he’s been imagining his whole life. I love these two characters so much! The sweetness and sunshine, the snark and smiles. Don’t get me wrong, the plot is fantastic too, but these characters jump off the page and are a true joy to read about! Kirt Graves makes Wiley’s accent and personality shine. He is great at capturing emotions in this narration. It was a pleasure to listen to!

So far my favorite of the series

Baer and Wiley are definitely my favorite characters so far, though I haven’t finished the whole series yet. I do get frustrated with the common trope of the perfect couple refusing to see that they fit together at all, despite them both being completely lovesick over each other. But I almost forgive them in this case because Baer and Wiley are so friggin’ adorable! Expect lots of rowdy fun and trouble. I’m still not thrilled with the narrator, but despite a couple of hiccups in this book, I’m pretty sure it’s not him, it’s me. LOL (I listen to a lot of books so I hear some super fabulous amazing narrators - so even a great one sometimes leaves me a bit flat.)

The Weavers tale, fantastical as it is, is so well told that you can almost believe the supernatural elements are normal. And meanwhile you have good character development for multiple main characters, plenty of action and the romance too! What’s not to love?

This was a good follow up. I freaking love Baer! He is so impulsive but you can't help but love him.
