Books 10-12 of the Will Travel for Trouble series of short cozy mysteries!
Trouble at Pelican Penthouse, Book 10: Minnie Crockwell, recreational vehicle enthusiast and traveler, and her ghost companion, Ben, rent Pelican Penthouse - a beach house on a secluded stretch of the coast known as Fort Morgan.
The serenity of the isolated beach is soon broken by the sounds of four-wheeled vehicles and a mysterious stench emanating from the cottage next door. On investigating the source of the smell, Minnie discovers something that breaks her heart. Death comes to more than just a human, and Minnie is compelled to solve the mystery of the casualties in Trouble at Pelican Penthouse.
Trouble at Island Castle, Book 11: Minnie and Ben are taking a break from solving mysteries with a bit of relaxation in Florida and a trip to Island Castle, a popular theme park.
But relaxation, being highly overrated, escapes the two as they discover that the moans, groans, and shrieks from the Creepy Castle buggy ride weren’t all fake. Someone didn’t make it out of the ride alive, and it wasn’t an accident!
Minnie swears she’s not going to get involved. She may have been on the ride, but she wasn’t the first to find the body...for once. But what Minnie says she’s going to do and what she really does are rarely the same thing as she determines to solve the mysterious death in Trouble at Island Castle.
Trouble at Yellowstone, Book 12: Minnie and Ben head to Yellowstone National Park. Bison, bears, wolves, elk, moose, antelope, and deer roam the valleys; bighorn sheep and mountain goats climb the hills; geysers spew fountains of steam and water; hot springs and mud pots abound! What’s not to like?
One tourist would be happy to tell you...if he were still alive. Minnie and Ben discover what’s left of that tourist and now must solve the trouble at Yellowstone!

The mysteries these times are a little bit different, and the setting is also another one in the first book. There is also a clear evolution in Minnie and Ben’s relationship, thanks probably to some changes in his ghostly nature.
I laughed out hard at several points throughout the book. I was glad that I was alone at home while listening to it, because I almost had tears of laugh. Minnie’s adventures, matter of fact attitude, and the awkward situations she creates are simply hilarious, and I just feel like listening to the book again to have a laugh again.
Michelle Babb is just the perfect narrator for this series. She has a natural talent to interpret this kind of candid characters, and she uses a light tone so that it seems you’re listening to Minnie Crockwell herself. The conversions between Minnie and Ben were so vivid that it was like watching a movie with real characters. I had a really great time listening to this audiobook, and I’m looking forward to the next.
I received this book for free in exchange for an honest review. This does not affect my opinion of the book or the content of my review.

In their first adventure included in this set, they're still in Alabama, but have moved on to a little beach house called Pelican Penthouse in Fort Morgan, due to the lack of any open spots in any RV parks. This time they don't find a dead person, which is a nice change of pace, right? Except they discover an unplugged freezer full of shark fins, and this of course leads to all sorts of trouble, including, of course, a dead body.
When that case is behind them, they head for a new RV park and a theme park to relax at. The death there at first appears to be just a an accident due to poor maintenance on a ride. Once that adventure is done, Minnie has new plans. She's getting stressed with all these unfortunate events, and briefly considers settling down. Instead, she and Ben go shopping for a smaller RV and an SUV able to pull it, in place of Minnie's big rig and towed car. And then they are off to Yellowstone. What could possibly go wrong at Yellowstone, right?
These books are a little bit silly, and a lot of fun. There is progress in Ben and Minnie's relationship. You might wonder what relationship progress with ghost might look like, but really, their only problem has been that Ben is so completely insubstantial. That has started to change...though only slowly, and just a little bit so far. And it isn't all upside, either.
I really like Ben and Minnie, and Michelle Babb is a very enjoyable narrator.
Recommended.

10 – Trouble at Pelican Penthouse
Minnie and Ben are in a rental property for a week stay in Alabama. Trouble soon finds Minnie or she finds it. Ben does some undercover sleuthing. It's handy for Minnie
to have a ghost for a partner. It seems that Ben is having a bit of transformation. Lots of suspects for Minnie and Ben to investigate.
Book 11 – Trouble at Island Retreat
Minnie and Ben move on to Florida. When they visit an amusement park, a young woman dies on a dark, spooky ride. Minnie and Ben are on the job trying to solve the
crime. Are three young women (one that's the victim) all in love with the same guy? Is it someone else? The clues add up until a final resolution.
Book 12 – Trouble at Yellowstone
Minnie chose to downsize and traded off the motor home for a SUV and pull behind camper. They head to Wyoming to Yellowstone where they see a man pushed in front of a
bull bison, where he is killed. Ben is no longer able to do some of his hocus pocus so investigating is a bit more tricky. Lots of possible suspects and plenty of
twists to keep the listener wondering. The ending seemed a bit abrupt, but I WANT MORE OF MINNIE AND BEN!!!
The narration was well done. The characters were well portrayed. Michelle Babb brings a light hearted spirit to these cozy mysteries!!!
