This is the third in the Mage Winds series. I love the Vladimir stories. The narrator was not properly prepared as she mispronounced names and used inappropriate accenting.

Another great tale of Vladimir

Absolutely great love the voices .love the pronunciation , love the performance. We all have slightly different ways we pronounce these names in our heads when we read them I think they did an excellent job in finding the middle ground.

I read it when young, this was better!

This is a fitting conclusion to the Winds trilogy, which leads into more tales from Valdemar in the Storm trilogy. Unfortunately, the narration provided detracts from me truly loving this recording. Misty Lackey began weaving her story of the world of Velgarth and the Kingdom of Valdemar almost 40 (!) years ago. Through many novels, novellas, and short stories, Lackey has captivated fans for decades, and because she has been such a prolific writer - of not only fiction, but songs based on the nations, people and other creatures inhabiting the world she created - there is a plethora of information, including audio recordings (songs) that feature the pronunciation of various names of people, places & creatures many of which were written by the author. I can understand artistic license in a vocal performance, which is why I'm not going to be too critical of the accents chosen for different characters, except to say that some choices really took me out of the story. For example, I always thought of the Shinʻaʻin & Taleʻeʻdras either as a native american or even perhaps a bedouin type of people so I thought that their accents would be similar to some native american peoples or even having a middle eastern accent given the bedouin leaning of how the clans are described. The narrator's choice to give Firesong, Darkwind and other Hawkbrothers the odd mashup and changing accents sounding almost Russian or Slavic at times really threw me out of the story. One name the narrator completely mangled for me was Elspeth's companion's name - Gwena.

Great story, unfortunate narration.

Overall Karen White was okay an narrator. Her voices were decent, but she pronounced some names differently than other narrators and differently than I did when I read the books.

A great story.

This series is easily one of my favorites from the author. It combines a compelling magical world with just enough of a first-contact story to satisfy my other preference.

The narration is nice, but I submit that it would not have been necessary to read every single OCR mistake without questioning it.

Great story, acceptably read

A great ending to another wonderful trilogy. We follow the dangerous journey of Elspeth, Darkwind, Firesong, and And'esha.

Final book in the trilogy

I loved it. I listen to Mercedes Lackey any time I'm driving. Much better than music.

my favorite author and a fantastic reader.

This block of the series just didn't have a great narrator. Accents weren't always consistent. Took away from an otherwise great story.

A great story that needed another narrator
