Publisher's summary

Stoicism is an active philosophy. That means that it is not enough to know its doctrines; one must also live them and develop habits that expand on and complete their ideas in practice. Practice, therefore, is also the focus of this audiobook, as well as the development of the listener’s inner and outer lives, that they may follow their own path and discover what it means to “live life in accordance with nature”.

You will discover Stoicism and how to apply it.

The audiobook includes a general introduction to Stoicism that pulls no punches when faced with the more complex aspects of Stoic doctrine.

Topics addressed include:

  • The history of the ancient Stoics.
  • The nature of good and evil, virtue and vice, and positive and negative externals.
  • The difference between those things in our control and those things not in our control.
  • Stoic logic and practical reasoning.
  • Stoicism’s role in the development of cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT).
  • Stoic exercises and daily practice.
  • Theology’s role in Stoicism and Stoic cosmology.

Also included in the bundle is an audiobook titled Daily Stoic Journal on Meditation, Stoicism, Wisdom and Philosophy to Improve Your Life.

The audiobook is a collection of Stoic sayings organized to allow daily reference and inspiration.

Including quotes from:

  • Marcus Aurelius
  • Seneca
  • Epictetus
  • And much more.

The Stoic advice covered in this volume runs the gambit from personal problems, to interpersonal relationships, to advice on work and productivity, to dealing with the hand of fate. Meditations in this audiobook are split up by seasons. There are meditations for each season, covering the four seasons.

Face the world with a new light with the help of these immortal thinkers and learn both to conquer yourself and to come to terms with those things you cannot control. Get your hands on this amazing Stoicism collection and bundle of ancient Greek philosophy!

This audiobook serves as a constant reminder to slow down and take some time to really focus on the most important things. It's very simple and to-the-point and offers points at the end of each chapter for reflection. The author is clearly a smart, logical individual who thinks carefully about what he says and explains what it is like to put his advice into practice. stoicism impress anyone

Stoicism, as it is presented in this format, is not meant to be entertaining or clever, nor is it meant to impress anyone. Very interesting to be learning from these greats of history, also interesting to learn the greats of this generation who are sharing and also learning from their experiences. Stoicism is something to definitely read into and start living this modern way. I would absolutely recommend it to anyone.

A Superb Introduction

In this extraordinarily easy to listen and fascinating introduction to the history of the Ancient Greeks. Great breadth of learning. I would have appreciated more treatment of scientific achievements. It is refreshing to find an author not consumed by the current politically correct culture that attempts to minimize the value of the Greeks. Great work and understanding of a period in human history that has influenced our thinking, culture and daily lives today.

Perfect intro to Philosophy

Touches on the major concepts and philosophers. A lot to learn and remember but worth introducing yourself to. Well-researched. Philosophy is very hard to understand for many people but this book explains it so well. Clear, concise and not in depth in abstract issues one probably is not interested in if purchasing this type of book. Good overall exposure to the subject.

An Excellent and Concise Survey

This is a good book for beginners of Stoicism and a good refresher for those who are more experienced. I gave this book to my teenage son and he has enjoyed as well and it did enough to peak his interest even further. The authors style and easy to follow rhetoric was a God-send. If you are starting in the journey of the Stoics, PLEASE read this book and support the authors efforts.

Changed my way of viewing life

The author put in a lot of work to make a very easy to understand philosophy book. It was a nice blend of material so you don't get bored reading an endless story and you still get the key points. It provides a very good synopsis of all the famous philosophers, from ancient Greece to the present. The train of thought is conducive to approaching and understanding the ancient greek philosophers. I highly recommend it! Substantive and illuminating!

prescription for everyday living

The Daily Stoic isn’t simply a book to make me think, it’s an action guide, a prescription for handling ourselves and our actions in the world. Great lessons and I use it as meditation and makes for a good start of the day. Fantastic, inspirational and concise, this book is the perfect way of absorbing and putting into practice the teachings of some of the greatest philosophers to have lived. If you are new to the philosophy it also has a short but thorough introduction. Highly-recommended book!
