About this listen

Zinnia Riddle doesn't use her witch powers much these days. She works as a clerk at the Wisteria Permits Department, where there hasn't been much need for spells and potions...until now.

When a beloved coworker is found dead next to her desk, the whole office gets paranoid. Is one of them a killer? Did the victim leave behind clues in the book she was writing? Is there a town-wide conspiracy, or is some lone serial predator on the loose?

The police are always two steps behind the evil that's threatening the peaceful town. Now it's up to Zinnia Riddle and the witches in her coven to uncover the secrets hiding in plain sight.

Will Zinnia's rusty magic hold up against a powerful enemy?

Wolves of Wisteria is the sixth book set in the Wisteria Witches Mysteries universe and the first book featuring Zinnia Riddle in her own thrilling mystery!

I enjoyed the first several books in the series very much. This doesn’t quite measure up, but is still very good if you enjoy Wisteria. The narrator did very well. The only thing that bothered me is she didn’t pronounce “Zara” the same way as the original narrator. I anticipated some characters would sound different, but the pronunciation of the name for one of the main character’s in the series seems pretty important to keep consistent.

Prefer Zara as a main character, but very good.

Getting to step back and get Zinnia's story was such a delight. I really enjoyed her quirky character in book 1 and this book gives so much insight into her and how she became how she is. It was also so eye opening to the wonderful little town. My heart really went out to her as the story unfolded and the ending kinda broke my heart for her. Zinnia still has may mysteries to share that I hope will come out in future books and I so look forward to those. This series is turning out to be a blast! The narration was very nice as well.

Like the back story from Zinnias point of view. Helps to sort out and understand the other characters and fills in gaps from the other books.

Wolves of Wisteria is by Angela Pepper and narrated by Rosemary Benson is an Audible book I requested and the review is voluntary. I love this series and the strange town of Wisteria! Witches, gnomes, shifters, ghosts, and brain eaters....what a town! Who wouldn't want to live there? Love the characters, great plot with twists, and plenty of clues that do nothing out confuse me more, lol. Love the interaction between characters, the dialogue, and trying to guess what will come next. Great series. The narration is done perfectly for this book! Great voices and emotions.

Another great mystery in Wisteria!

For those familiar with the Wisteria Witches Mystery Series, you know that Zinnia is the aunt of Zara Riddle. I had already listened to the first five books in the series, all of which follow Zara with guest appearances by her aunt. The Wolves of Wisteria goes back in time to just before Zara arrives in Wisteria, and it follows Zinnia's life before meeting her niece. In Zara's books, I never really felt like I knew much about Zinnia. She seemed incredibly standoffish, and I could never tell what she was really feeling. The author still keeps Zinnia's background and history pretty mysterious, but at least I know about how she thinks and feels after reading this book. Because she is so serious, Zinnia's book is much less peppy than Zara's books, but the friendships between Zinnia and her coworkers at the Permit Department of City Hall truly make the book. The mystery is a traditional whodunit, and I was completely floored when Zinnia discovered the guilty party. Since she is a witch and living in a city filled with magical beings, there are plenty of intriguing paranormal elements, but I think anybody with a love of a good cozy mystery will love this book specifically and the entire series as a whole.

Rosemary Benson's narration is fantastic. She does not narrate the books told by Zara, so having a different narrator helped separate Zinnia's character from Zara's. Benson has a mature, subdued voice, so I thought she matched Zinnia's personality perfectly, Her performance was flawless, and she infused the story with just enough excitement to be believable without being overly dramatic.

I received a copy of this audiobook at my request in exchange for this honest review.

Though I'm a bit upset that Zara now doesn't know about a sister... A little bit on the crazy side! Can't wait to find out more!!!

A cute murder mystery, with lots of twists. Quirky characters with quirky theories. The relationship between Zinnia and her detective is so amusing. This narrator is so much better than the last, great pick.
