insights on writing life and process

Where does Write Like the Wind, Volume 2 rank among all the audiobooks you’ve listened to so far?

this is the second collection from Aaron Paul Lazar's writing columns from a range of sources.
the insights , subjects, and styles are quite varied

Who was your favorite character and why?

it's a sereis of coulmns, so favortie character doesn't quite work. several of my favorite chapters, though, were the ones on where do you write? writing while traveling, and Lazar's first experience attending an in person writing group. his voice and perspective come through quite clearly, and his take each of these topics goes in directions you might not expect.

Which scene was your favorite?

in addiiton to the chapters mentioned above, Lazar's chapter on producing an audio book is a good example of how to deliver information while telling a story, and his chapter on writing with kids is hilarious. I also liked the section he included in which he'd been interviewed by others.

Was there a moment in the book that particularly moved you?

description of the landscape of the Adirondacks in the section on where do you write

Any additional comments?

the tone of the writing and the tone of the narration is warm and friendly. different aspects of subject matter and approaach will naturally appeal to writers at different stages of experience and interest, but there are many useful insights in this nearly three hours of narration, and it's thoughtully organized

Good

Good helpful insite he has learn and now sharing, of the dead giveaways that are amateurs for writer, blogger, etc. Good information, and good to have in audio so one can listen to and make notes. Given audio for my.voluntary review and my honest opinion

okay

Its annoying that he mentions his email and website and asks you to contact him a few times. He kind of rambles. The narrator is really slow. Good voice and clarity but reads way too slow. Biggest complaint is book doesn't really inform or educate unless you're an amateur just starting out. The writing itself and exampkes are very cliché and sort of bad. This will teach you to become and stay an amateur and write cliché even cheesey books. If you like cheesey romance and bad pop titles then this is for you.

Weakest of the Three

Of all three volumes, Lazar offers precious little actual writing advice here. He does, however, go on and on and on about how he was able to stretch himself and write a steamy romance scene and he reads ALL of it. No, really. ALL of it. I kept fast forwarding it, and it went on and on, with the narrator sounding absolutely delighted. And that was it for the audiobook; nothing else offered that could actually be tucked away into a writer's toolbox for future, or immediate use.
Most unfortunate...
