Publisher's summary

Only the strongest survive...most of the time...

Raven may be a shifter, but she's always felt separate from her wolf. She never knew it should be different. Then, a stranger shows up in her hometown, turning her world upside down and recruiting her for the elite Bloodshed Academy.

Everything she's ever known is challenged, and Raven finds herself in impossible situations. Making matters worse is the fact that one of the strongest alphas at school catches her eye. And he makes her feel things she doesn't understand.

The school may only recruit the best of the best, the strongest in their world, but there's something more about Raven. When push comes to shove, she has to decide if she's willing to fight for what she's come to love...or run from a life she can't quite accept.

Really good

I really enjoyed this book, great start to the series. Very interesting and kept my attention very well. Writing was done very well and a great narration just made it better. Can't wait to see what happens in book 2.

A good start to a new series

I really enjoyed this book! The narrator was very engaging and did the various voices well. I wasn’t so sure at the beginning when the main female character was in a relationship and it seemed liked it was against her will. I almost turned off the book but kept going and it does get better. It’s a paranormal academy book but with a twist since the main character knows she’s a supernatural. It was a fast listen and enjoyable. It definitely ends as a to-be-continued so I look forward to the next book to see what happens.

funny

**May have some spoilers** This book is about a girl whose parents are keeping secrets about her, who is secretly an alpha, and ends up getting selected to go to this prestigious school over her boyfriend. She meets three elite men who all instantly befriend her and a new roomate who is really cool. She seemed to not really get along with anyone in her hometown, so her move to Bloodshed Academy seems a little too easy and perfect. One of those men is her real mate, which comes out once one of her secrets is figured out. There wasnt alot of passion with the mating, it just was supposed to be that way so they were instantly in love. Now, despite the storyline being too easy for the main character, the other characters in this book are actually great. This book actually made me laugh out loud. Cole is one of the best side characters I have ever read. Rage doesnt seem like there's alot to him besides being broody and beautiful. Jess is sweet, sassy, and fun- the perfect best friend who some how didnt make friends her first year there.

The storyline had me hooked pretty much from the beginning. I am looking forward to unveiling the rest of Raven's secrets and I cant wait to see more of Cole.

Entertaining Academy Romance

This one was an enjoyable and entertaining listen for me! I really liked the kind of girl-power theme it has going and the mystery woven throughout the story. It definitely has these Reverse Harem vibes, but it is a M/F romance. I love all the wonderful characters and the world building was interesting!

The narrator does a great job, but the thing that brought it down to a 4-star for me is the voice she uses for the MMC. Sometimes it sounds kinda whiny (and that's not the vibe I get from his character at all). But she does various character voices and is easy to understand and pleasant to listen to!

Fun story, definitely YA/NA

I thought the narrator was very good and the story's idea was good. I have to say that I'm definitely not the target audience for this book as I'm about twice the MC's age. I had a hard time getting through all the teenage angst and the bullying. There were some pretty obvious plot gaps but the author did a good job of developing the characters.

Excellent New Paranormal Academy Series

This is my first book by this author and I throughly enjoyed it. The story grabbed my attention from the very beginning and It was hard to put it down. I loved the world Jen created and Raven is a great strong and independent character.

Narration was well done and brought the story to life.

The characters are captivating and well developed. The dialogues are fun and the story flows at a great pace. There are a few jumps in the timeline but It was well done. The story is unique with them being college age and the Academy only recruiting the strongest Elite of the supernatural community.

Some of the main characters are wolf shifters, vampires, bear shifters, and fae. Bloodshed Academy has some captivating and funny characters that will put a smile on your face.

Some of our questions were answered in this book but there are several big ones that remain a mystery. There is no major cliffhanger which is a plus for me. The story concludes as a new element is added to the story and we are left wondering which direction the story will take.

I’m looking forward to finding out what happens next!

Amazing First Year

I couldn't stop listening till it was over . Raven is a total alpha female and I loved it . I love how she isn't put down or depressed by all the bullies but stands her ground .I did have a little sympathy for Greg and hope he finds the one for him . Jesse is the ideal Bff . I love her friendship with Cole and hope it progresses into more . I look forward to Raven seeing her parents again. I can't wait for the next book . The narration is very well done and I could easily notice the distinction between the characters .
