About this listen

From the global bestselling author of Iris is More than Okay comes a sweeping, Transatlantic, second chance romance that will steal your heart. Narrated by Bella Maclean, breakout star of Jilly Cooper's Rivals.

Holland Beck – yes, after the country, and no, the story isn’t a good one – hates flying. On the brink of boarding a flight from Heathrow to Los Angeles, she panics. She can’t do it. Travelling triggers all the trauma of her past, the childhood memories she’s done her very best to forget.

But thanks to cool, calm and collected Xander, Holland somehow manages to board the plane. Twelve hours and six thousand miles later, they touch down in LA and aren’t quite able to say goodbye. They make arrangements to meet at the end of Santa Monica Pier in three days time.

But while Holland turns up, Xander is nowhere to be seen.

A year passes – one ordinary, unremarkable year. Holland does her best to forget the American with the ice blue eyes and slightly crooked smile, but despite her best efforts, the memories remain clear in her mind, refusing to let go. Then one evening, at a friend’s wedding, their worlds collide once more, along with all the unanswered questions: Why wasn't he at the pier that day? What made him change his mind? And why does he carry a hidden sorrow that seems to reflect her own?

You, Again is an achingly tender map of the heart, showing us the roads not taken and the ones we did, and if there is ever a way to retrace our steps, to learn to love again.

This story had depth and emotion evolving from the main characters; including fear, guilt, and love. I was rooting for Holland and Zander all the way through but admittedly felt the story was a little drawn out with the mystery/secret each possessed, but all in all a worthwhile and enjoyable read. I and was happy to see their HEA!

A really nice story with some unexpected twists. Not enough to be stressful but enough to keep Me wanting to continue listening. Great narrator too

Sweet and soothing with a bit of depth

It had cute characters and a sweet and fun plot and was well done by the narrator

Cute and fun story

An enjoyable story with too much melodrama towards the end. The narrator was excellent as was the prose. The characters were fun and distinctive.
The story was good but got way too melodramatic in the third act.

The writing was good and succinct

I liked the complex story, though I agree with other reviewers that the mysteries took too long to come out. I had a pretty good idea of what it was going to be though there was one piece I didn’t guess.

That said, my biggest issue is that it takes a very similar path as the first book where something tragic in the hero and heroine’s life is coincidentally linked with the person they fall in love with. So while details and setting are certainly different, it’s the same approach as the first book in the series and that is disappointing to me. It felt too similar.

Good, but

I liked the basic storyline. Though the “we can’t tell each other the truth” got to be a bit much. The narrator’s American accent was laughable.

Good for free, a bit slow.

Loved the storyline and the slow romantic build! The narration was lovely and soothing. Just the book to entertain me on a long drive.

Unbelievable story line. Super slow. Very frustrating at times. I didn’t like the protagonist. Not my favorite book.
