“Katy Summers has written something truly wonderful, and so beautifully observed.” – Stuart Martin

“The chemistry between our two love interests jumped off the page...an engaging and accomplished debut, a stand-out read.” – Tanera Simmons

“I found it difficult to believe that Love Rebooted is a debut. It's well-paced, the characters jumped from the page, it grabbed my attention and didn't let it go.” - Sue Moorcroft

_____________

FRIENDS. RIVALS. LOVERS.

Liv’s happy with life in her thirties. She has two cats, one BFF, and no boyfriend, which is just how she likes it. Plus, she loves working at a not-for-profit software company where she can be her authentically autistic self. This is her happy ever after.

But when her beloved firm merges with a repulsive rival, Liv finds herself competing with her sort-of-ex for the top job. Sure, Finn had been Liv’s best friend at university, with his nerdy good looks and their shared love of Tolkien, but there was that one night, their song, and … well, she doesn’t like to talk about it. In fact, she hasn’t thought about him since.

Unlike Finn who is delighted to have Liv back in his life. Could this finally be his chance to rescue their friendship after all these years? But he knows it’s only a matter of time until he wins the job and Liv gets laid off. He hates everything about it, but he’s a single dad with a daughter to support, so losing isn’t an option – not even to his soulmate.

But in the close proximity of a cut-throat corporate world, Finn finds himself falling first and soon his priority becomes breaking down Liv’s barriers. As the pair struggle to keep their professional and personal lives separate, Liv starts to think maybe Finn’s suggestion of a friendship reboot isn’t such a bad idea after all…

And as for that funny feeling inside… no, that’s nothing. Nothing at all…

Narrated by Emily Atack (star of Rivals) & Stuart Martin (star of Miss Scarlet and The Duke), LOVE, REBOOTED is a steamy, slow burn romance that will steal the heart of your inner-nerd. Because if we want a second chance at love, sometimes we have to ask ourselves the most obvious question: Have you tried turning it on and off again?

Having been diagnosed with what is now Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) as a kid, going through the school system with a IEP and eventually getting mainstreamed into the school setting to the point where I was able to go to college, I struggled to find characters that I could relate to. It wasn’t easy. However, I am starting to find more books with neurodivergent characters as part of the main storyline, or who at least play a big role in the story, as Olive and Max do here.

Like Liv, I like my routine, and I have my special interests (as well as LotR, I also enjoy Critical Role/Vox Machina and a host of other fantasy stories, as well as science fiction such as Doctor Who). It is hard to mask sometimes when you’re out in public and your routine gets messed up, but finding a quiet place to breathe when this happens usually helps (and in some cases, dog kisses when I get home). I won’t say that it’s easy; for every Finn and Syd, there are plenty of Mastersons with their own agendas and viewpoints when it comes to the workplace.

The one thing I will say that could be seen as negative (but it’s not, I promise) is that I wasn’t expecting the amount of sex scenes that made their way into the book, but it was fun to see Liv come into her own and express herself in a way that many people wouldn’t expect from someone on the spectrum.

Admittedly I don’t know how work culture affects people on the spectrum in the UK; having grown up across the pond, I have been able to rely on programs promoting inclusion and diversity (state and, until recently, federal) in the workplace in regards to a career path while dealing with the ups and downs of ASD. I don’t know if there’s any specific legislation that is the equivalent of the Americans with Disabilities Act, but I was so pleased to see Liv and Finn finally take a stand against Masterson and give him what he had coming since he first came on the scene.

Surprisingly Spicy, and not just Neuro-Spicy

I LOVED this book! I loved how Liv was a NORMAL (not size 0) sized person who others regularly find attractive. I also was obsessed with the author’s ability to describe not only what goes through the mind of someone with autism, but how to appropriately respond and support them from someone who parents someone with autism. This might be a new favorite standalone book of mine.

This book had such a lovely story. I found the readers to be very engaging and the characters were very easy to like and root for! I enjoyed the book so much I’m going to look for other titles by the same author!

One of the best books I’ve listened to in a long time!

Must read!! Well written/read and full of humor. Tugs at the heart strings. First romance novel I have read where the main character is on the spectrum.

Wonderful, real story

It was so nice to have an author in the romance space make room for disability, diversity, and women who are not 20 and a size 2. I felt seen even though this doesn't perfectly represent me. I can't wait for more!

Refreshing and fun!

As a late diagnosed autistic female, it was surprisingly wonderful to relate to and understand the FMC so well. Very accurate representation and a lovely story with themes of advocacy, inclusion and being loved as you are.

Honestly a breath of fresh air to listen to. Also super validating for women who struggle with masking among other challenges with having autism. Love the story and the performance. Recommend this 10 out of 10!
