About this listen

The BRILLIANT romantic comedy from MILLION-COPY BESTSELLER Portia MacIntosh. This writer's retreat has a plot twist...

Romantic comedy writer Amber Page is stuck in a rut.

After her editor tells her she needs to "up the spice" in her books (literally Amber's worst nightmare...), she is at a crossroads with what to do with her career.

When the opportunity arises to go on a writer's retreat at an exclusive château in the beautiful French Alps Amber reluctantly agrees, hoping a change of scenery will help with inspiration.

But while she tries and fails to spice up her writing - with the unhelpful guidance of the eccentric romance writers at the château - she meets two leading men who cause her own real-life romantic comedy to unfold...

A laugh-out-loud love triangle, forced proximity romantic comedy from million-copy bestseller Portia MacIntosh.

Cute, funny, entertaining

Excellent author and narrator. Light comedy romance with an adorable English accent that kept me smiling and giggling to myself the entire listen.

Another great book

Another great book was great narration as always!! Love the holiday theme! There wasn’t any laugh out loud moments, but still great nonetheless

Sooooooo fun!👍

So much fun! Twists and chaotic misunderstandings that are not frustrating for the reader all on brand for a Portia Mac story. It’s not even long. Sooooooo worth it!!! I feel very similar to the author and MC. I love the books who have adult humor, adult situations, adult problems, adult romance, but lack the ridiculous corn scenes that just throw me outside the story. I’m sure they’re hard to write!!!

Good writing but not much romance

I wish the love interests would spend more time together. It took over half the book to finally have a tiny romantic feeling. It’s always good writing and cute but I enjoy the main characters to spend some time together the entire book.

Bravo! What a fun read without outstanding narration!

Love the story and characters. The winter scene at the ski Lodge made you feel like you were there. The supporting characters brought light to the story and the comedic timing of the main character made you smile. Portia and Karen make an amazing team and I look forward to every book that they are paired on.

This book is garbage

I usually love her books but this has inappropriate content - or at least more inappropriate content than her books usually have. Some of it is quite funny but overall this book is super lazy.

Okay

I have loved all of Portia McIntosh’s stories, but to me, this one fell short. It seemed slow. I listened to the end, but sadly, not as good as others. Just my opinion, but I love her and will wait for a new novel!! Love the narrator, Karin Cass( forgive spelling) !
