About this listen

A special edition of the critically acclaimed LGBTQ+ romance, now with bonus material from best-selling authors Nina LaCour and David Levithan.

You Know Me Well is a deeply honest story about navigating the joys and heartaches of first love, one truth at a time.

Who knows you well? Your best friend? Your boyfriend or girlfriend? A stranger you meet on a crazy night? No one, really?

Mark and Kate have sat next to each other for an entire year but have never spoken. For whatever reason, their paths outside of class have never crossed. That is until Kate spots Mark miles away from home, out in the city for a wild, unexpected night. Kate is lost, having just run away from a chance to finally meet the girl she has been in love with from afar. Mark, meanwhile, is in love with his best friend, Ryan, who may or may not feel the same way. When Kate and Mark meet up, little do they know how important they will become to each other - and how, in a very short time, they will know each other better than any of the people who are supposed to know them more.

Told in alternating points of view by Nina LaCour, author of Watch Over Me, We Are Okay, Hold Still, and The Disenchantments, and David Levithan, author of Every Day and coauthor of Nick and Norah's Infinite Playlist (with Rachel Cohn) and Will Grayson, Will Grayson (with John Green).

You Know Me Well by Nina LaCour and David Levithan

What did you love best about You Know Me Well?

What a great audiobook! I loved narrators Matthew Brown and Emma Galvin as the voices of teens Mark and Kate who barely know each other and their paths cross one night in a gay bar as Mark takes the mic. What develops quickly is a very meaningful friendship when they realize their own friends maybe don't really understand them. I just loved both characters, Mark and Emma are real teens with insecurities, wants and needs. Teens will get the normal days and the drama filled days of these protagonists. They follow PRIDE week in San Francisco and attend their last days of school as Kate finally meets her crush, Violet and Mark is unsure of where he stands with Ryan. A wonderful book of friendship, bonding, and finding out who you are. Highly recommended!

Delightful, Angsty, Prideful, Joyous

If you are looking for a cute, quick read about the meaning of gay pride and young love, you need to read this book. The authors are well matched and both stories benefit from the telling of the other. A fun, light reading of some heavy topics.

great listen! loved alternating POVs

loved this story of friendship! probably one of the best books I've read that has alternating POVs with two different characters. that format really drove the plot in a unique way in this book!

Exactly the kind of disaster gay mlm/wlw support I want

Look it’s a total cheese ball book but the way that the characters bond and the book unfolds makes you happy. The characters are strong and the read is worth while. Completely unapologetically gay.

lovely

narrator never reads fast enough for me, but the story was amazing... really touching. I'm a huge fan of David Leviathan and was certainly not disappointed here.
I'd highly recommend this moving tale of two ships passing in the night who choose to sail together, to fight life together as their lives change and unfold.
