Publisher's summary

Since Night of the Living Dead, zombies have been a frightening fixture on the pop-culture landscape, lumbering after hapless humans, slurping up brains and veins and whatever warm, fleshy matter they can clench in their rotting limbs. But what if they were real? What would happen if, tomorrow, corpses across the nation began springing up out of their graves and terrorizing the living? Employing hard science and solid police work - not to mention jaw-dropping (literally!) humor - Zombie CSU is the only guide available to staying alive and avoiding the undead.

At last listeners can:

  • Investigate zombie crime scenes, collecting and analyzing evidence of zombie attacks
  • Examine the psychology of the zombie and develop a perp profile
  • Observe medical science pros as they probe felled zombies for forensic clues
  • Devise a zombie apocalypse survival scorecard
  • And more!

Complete with lists of must-see zombie flicks from around the globe and tons of tips for kicking undead butt, Zombie CSU features hundreds of interviews with real zombie experts, forensics experts, detectives, filmmakers, and more.

Not as good as I expected

I was really excited by the description of this book, but I just couldn't really get into it. The content was interesting(ish), but it was punctuated by lots of random side-bars...presumably because the book is structured with lots of images and extras alongside the main narrative. I think it could have been structured differently as an audiobook to emphasize that the asides were completely separate from the rest of the book. Maybe put them in their own section at the end...

Really quite dated 2008

it was okay for what it was it was interesting to have the history laid out. I have only been interested in zombies since kirkman's comic books but it goes back much further than that. He postulates Frankenstein was the first zombie, reanimated dead anyway for sure. This information does not age well.

Read ‘Plight of the Living Dead’ instead

Seriously. Way more informative and entertaining read with a much more engaging narrator.

All about real zombification in the animal kingdom. from wasp venom literally hijacking a cockroaches brain/neurophysiology, to larvae inside ladybugs causing them to involuntarily spasm and kick away predators as a result, to the infamous fungus that causes an ant to climb a tree above his colony before a spore explodes out of its head and infects the ants below.

It sounds gross but it is SO fascinating and a much more worthy investment of your time and credit. Which is a shame, because I normally love this authors work - def check it out after you’re done with ‘PlightOTLDead’.

utterly pointless artsy fartsy fest

wow, you will be saying "I don't care" "why should I care" over and over again.

unless you geek out on this stuff like a weird cat lady your whole life.. dude. WARN people this is COMPLETELY NICHE.

I can't get enough of your Sam Hunter. I generally like your stuff. but this genuinely sucks. it's like getting slapped in the face with a cold hard fish by a generally pleasurable author.

put a warning in the description. yuk. Will never get that hour and change back

Like listening to a car's maintenance manual on CD

This should be a class in a stuffy liberal university. Every fan of the genre know the backstories. Tell us a thrilling zombie story. Scare us. Great book to fall in a deep deep sleep to.
