Terese has over 47 years of experience in hospitals, clinics, and private practice in Arizona, Oregon, and Washington State. She was a member of an Academy and ASPEN collaborative workgroup which jointly created the 2012 Consensus Characteristics of Adult Disease-Related Malnutrition, and continues to serve on Academy and ASPEN committees. Terese also owns a nutrition consulting company, MySurgeryPlate LLC, to audit, educate and consult on effective and compliant malnutrition documentation, consult on malnutrition informatics, and teach handgrip strength examination and documentation for malnutrition, sarcopenia, and frailty, to promote program development surrounding nutrition in preparation for and recovery from major surgery.
