Kristine Casart is the founder of Mom Vegan Love, where she helps people discover the joy of sobriety and plant-based living. After overcoming her own childhood trauma and addiction, she believes there’s hope to be found in every human struggle.

Her yearning to end her suffering drove her to a deep dive into the world of self-help, leadership, spirituality, recovery, nutrition, and veganism. This self-study revealed an ultimate truth: healing starts with self-love. It is self-love that generates the will to grow and peel away the layers of hurt. By shifting our perspective of those layers, we uncover hidden gems of wisdom that lead to healing. Kristine believes that when we heal ourselves, we heal the world.

In today's healing conversation, Erika Brown shares her healing journey and how trauma showed up in her body. When Erika was diagnosed with Conversion Disorder, her entire life changed and taught her lessons that she shares. Her wisdom and experience ooze through as she speaks. Join me as we receive the medicine that Erika was meant to share with us today. This conversation made me feel like I went to church and school and graduated. Erika's words are like a healing balm, she heals through her words.

Erika Brown is an Author, Speaker, Empowerment Mentor, and Human Design/Gene Keys Guide. Her journey toward this work began in July 2007 when she gained a new perspective on herself. However, it wasn't until January 2010 that she actively started making intentional changes in her life to create something different. Over the course of 11 years, she went through a significant transformation and appeared to be thriving.

Unfortunately, her life took a turn when she was hospitalized for a week and diagnosed with Conversion Disorder with non-epileptic seizures in September 2021. This diagnosis had a profound impact on her, and it seemed like the life she had worked so hard to build was falling apart. Erika then embarked on a two-year journey inward, during which she began the process of transforming her life from the inside out.

Erika's belief in the power of self-discovery and the potential for personal alchemy through this process is a central theme in her work. She is passionate about healing, empowerment, transformation, and wellness and is eager to assist others in their journeys of self*empowerment and transformation.

In today's conversation, we speak with the multi-talented Racquel Bernard aka Jahmi Roc. Loving the direction of the conversation as Jahmi Roc shares about her healing journey and the tools that she uses, including her spiritual umbrella, the tools she uses to support her through her most challenging times inlcuding being in an abusive relationship and temporary homelessness.

Racquel Bernard is originally from Kingston Jamaica and is a PhD student in Musicology based in Los Angeles. Racquel is a scholar, singer-songwriter, dance enthusiast and single mom. Her favorite genres of music are r&b, reggae, dancehall, gospel and hip hop. She works in the admissions consulting industry assisting prospective undergraduate and graduate students apply to their schools and programs of interest. Bernard founded College Rocqet which expands pro-bono and need-aware access to college counseling.

As an individual with a mental health diagnosis, she has invested in her own self-care and partnered with mental health professionals to achieve stability and growth. The lessons she has learned while managing her own diagnosis range from setting and protecting boundaries, mindfulness, journaling, visual art practice, self-directed music-making, and exploring various coping strategies. She shares her experiences candidly and openly in order to defeat the stigma around mental illness.

Racquel voices and critiques the problems of racism, classicism, sexism, homophobia, transphobia, fatphobia and ableism. Whether through her musicological research, her music, or everyday conversations with her associates, she seeks to actualize freedom and build a future of equity and justice.

She enjoys languages like Patwa (Jamaican Creole), Spanish and Portuguese. A graduate of Dartmouth College in African and African American Studies and the University of the West Indies (Mona) in Cultural Studies (of Institute of Caribbean Studies), questions of belonging, culture, social systems and power drive her to learn and unlearn ideas about our world.
