Those who suffer from bullying live surrounded by fear, but also shame or guilt, which hides the problem and lengthens it. This ends up leading to psychological problems that can extend until years later.
But what are the different types of bullying?
- Verbal harassment: through insults or nicknames intended to attack and denigrate the victim on a social level. Isolation and low self-esteem appear when being rejected by others.
- Social harassment: the victim is isolated from the rest of the class. Attempts to do group activities are canceled. This type of aggression is difficult to detect, since in the eyes of parents and teachers it may seem that there is a problem of excessive shyness.
- Psychological harassment: continuous teasing, humiliation and underestimation. It is related to verbal harassment, but it goes further, since the attack on self-esteem is used to neutralize the victim.
- Physical harassment: hitting, pushing or beating, but also indirectly with theft or breakage of material.
