Mike started out with his reading and it was inspired by a lead that he heard earlier in the week. It was about honesty and that is the backbone of our program, so it was a really good conversation.

Our friend Tim celebrated 40 years sober this week and we gave him a well deserved shout out.

We did some reminiscing about a group that we attended at the Keating Center, chatted about Andrew McCarthy, dove into the 6th Step for a bit, gave a medical update and recapped our weekend at Founder's Day.

It's Founder's Day Weekend! And it's the 90th Anniversary of the founding of Alcoholics Anonymous.

Mike started out with his reading and it was all about the "we" of the program. We learn to set our egos aside, be of service to others and we become a group of people, with the same goal. We are Brothers In Defects. It was a great reading and a great conversation.

We found out this week that Marc Maron will be ending his podcast this fall, after 16 years. He's one of us, someone we follow and enjoy and we will miss his show. But he is leaving with grace and on his own terms. That is the cool part.

Then it was Founder's Day talk. The past, the present and why we enjoy it so much.

We also chatted about Henry Winkler, an old review that we received and what have we always wanted to do? We are sober and have the freedom now, so that also gives us many options.

We wrapped up with an article about dirty dishes. It was not what we expected and we took it in a worse direction. Imagine that.

This week, as promised and finally, we have Shirley!

Our friend from "the socials" and self proclaimed Sober Not Mature Fan Girl.

This was one of the most laid back and comfortable conversations that we have had in a long time. She told us about her background, what got her into sobriety and what she does now. It was straight forward and to the point, but we learned a lot about her along along the way.

She is from Detroit (Mike liked that), she practices a lot of the same things that we do and she got sober during the pandemic. Her sobriety date is 01/09/2020.

It was a great conversation, and we had a wonderful time talking with her.

Yep, it is just us this week. Shirley will be on with us in a couple of weeks, but we needed to reschedule. It was us, not her. and we are thankful that she was willing to be flexible.

This week, it's the Anniversary Spectacular Episode! It's probably not spectacular, but both of us did have sober anniversaries.

Mike started off with his reading and it was about a higher power and how we need to act. Do we "deserve" things? Does the world owe us things? We know how we were and how we are now and it was a good talk.

And yes, both of us celebrated 15 years sober in the past week. It's a great accomplishment, but we are not done yet.

Then we talked about saying goodbye, our upcoming guest, The Bad Boys Of Recovery, Demi Moore, dating app stories, Mike's favorite rock band and a trip down memory lane to our first days in The Keating Center.
