Thea describes what animal communication looks like and the different ways that information comes through. We explore the subtle experiences in the body that can convey information to us if we develop the internal awareness and attunement. Thea shares her process in developing her skills and how she supports her students in growing theirs. She also shares a real story of a communication between her and her cat, as well as offering us a few tips for those who want to explore this more.

  • Gemini Cont. w/ interview with two Professors from TESC Shaw Osha & Hugo Flores on Language, Art, Critical Thinking, and the Silent Way
    May 29 2025

Today, we’re continuing our exploration of Gemini by bringing in its opposite on the zodiac axis—Sagittarius, the philosopher and professor—through a conversation with two of my favorite people: Professors Shaw Osha and Hugo Flores from The Evergreen State College. Both are brilliant thinkers, artists/ musicians, and bilingual speakers. Shaw teaches visual art, and Hugo teaches and leads the Spanish department.

In our conversation, we explored approaches to critical thinking that challenge our tendency toward immediate analysis, interpretation, and repetition. Shaw and Hugo both use teaching methods that encourage students to slow down and sit with what’s right in front of them—resisting the urge for quick conclusions or easy answers.

Their insights reminded me of the mythological characters we explored last week—Hermes and Narada—both known for challenging assumptions and disrupting habitual ways of thinking and noticing where our thinking has become automatic or overly simplistic. In a culture that values speed and certainty, it seems all too easy for our critical thinking muscles to weaken, but if we can allow for some discomfort the learning and growth potential is great!

  • Taurus cont. w/ Bettina Baschy &Jo Salmon on Landscape Design, 5 senses, nervous system, micro biome
    May 1 2025

In this episode, I have a conversation with two landscape designers, Jo Salmon and Bettina Baschy as a way of deepening our understanding of the wisdom of Taurus season. They both articulate the experiences of being in and working with the garden, not only as an artistic expression, but also as a way to enjoy the 5 senses, create privacy, play with color/texture/height/sound, boost the immune system, and invite life into your yard. Whether you are into gardening or not, their descriptive language will transport you into a calm, relaxed and grounded state of being.

  • Interview with Jazzy Ramsey: Beyond Conflict. We discuss the current administration, the use of the military tactics "Shock and Awe," & joy as resilience and resistance.
    Apr 24 2025

In this episode, I have a conversation with the program director at Beyond Conflict, Jazzy Ramsey. We explore the wisdom of Taurus as a strategy for selfcare and community building in the face of political unrest. We look at the current administration and their strategic use of, “Shock and Awe,” to target the nervous system. We explore the unforeseen consequences of the cancel culture, the current issues of isolation, conflict resolution, and lastly joy as resilience and resistance.
Remembering that Taurus energy combats attacks on the nervous system as the earth sign that supports us in being able to ground through the 5 senses. It reminds us that it’s okay to take breaks, rest and nourish ourselves and others. It is the stubborn and enduring bull that can sustain in a movement.
Throughout the conversation, Jazzy references other revolutions, revolutionaries and atrocities to shed light on our present moment, and I weave in the current astrological shifts.
Plus a great story about humpback whales!
