• Dr Oriol Mitjà and Dr Hypolite Muhindo Mavoko on mpox

    On August 14th, the World Health Organisation declared a public health emergency of international concern in relation to mpox. This was motivated, in part, by the emergence of a concerning new strain of mpox, clade 1b, which has spread rapidly across Central Africa. Joining me this week to discuss important clinical aspects of the current mpox outbreak are Dr Oriol Mitja, Associate Professor at the Germans Trias Research Institute in Barcelona, and Dr Hypolite Muhindo Mavoko from the Department of Tropical Medicine at the University of Kinshasa.
