The blessed Chapter, revealed in Mecca, has 40 verses. The designation of the Chapter, denoting resurrection, derives from the opening verse. The chapter, as reflected in its title, mainly treats of the Day of Resurrection. It opens with an enumeration of the harsh and frightening incidents to occur at the end of the world and proceeds to make mention of the happy and sad appearances of the good and evil doers.

Surah Al-Waqi'ah ("The Inevitable" or "The Event") is the 56th surah (chapter) of The Holy Quran. Muslims believe it was revealed in Mecca (see Meccan surah). The total number of verses in this surah are 96. It mainly discusses the afterlife according to Islam, and the different fates people will face in it.

Surah An-Nahl (The Bees) is the 16th chapter (surah) of The Holy Qur'an, with 128 ayah (verse). It is named after honeybees and contains a comparison of the industry and adaptability of honeybees to the industry of man. Regarding the timing and contextual background of the supposed revelation (asbal al-nuzul), it is an earlier "Meccan surah", which means it is believed to have been revealed in Mecca, instead of later in Medina.

Surah Al-Kawthar or Al-Kautsar ("Abundance or The River of Paradise) is the 108th and shortest chapter (surah) of the Quran. There are several differing opinions as to the circumstances under which it was supposedly revealed. According to Ibn Ishaq, it was revealed in Makka, some time before the Isra and Mi'raj. Imam Ahmad recorded from Anas bin Malik that a man said, "O Messenger of Allah! What is Al-Kawthar He replied: (It is a river in Paradise which my Lord has given me, It is whiter than milk and sweeter than honey. There are birds in it whose necks are (long) like carrots.)

The surah begins by describing how on the Day of Judgment, the Earth will give off a terrible earthquake and "throw up her burdens". Through the inspiration of God, the Earth will bear witness to the actions of men it has witnessed. According to Michael Sells, the Earth opening up and bearing forth her secrets in this surah is indicative of a birth metaphor. Human beings will then realize that the moment of accountability has arrived. This meticulous accountability will reflect good and evil deeds that might have seemed insignificant at the time.
