Joining us in the Audible Studios to talk about her latest book, The Curious History of Dating: From Jane Austen to Tinder, is British journalist, broadcaster and author Nichi Hodgson. A regular contributor to The Guardian, Vice and The Telegraph on issues of civil liberties, gender politics and sex, and the law, Nichi Hodgson was one of the first British journalists to court-report via Twitter. Her latest book, The Curious History of Dating: From Jane Austen to Tinder, looks at the history of dating in all its various forms.

And now, You Are Not Alone, Lloyd's first book, which shares her experiences of death at a young age, and how we deal (or don't) with grief.

Joining us at Audible Studios is high profile human rights and civil liberties barrister Leslie Thomas QC. Thomas was called to the bar in 1988 and has represented some very high-profile cases, including families of the Hillsborough disaster, the family of Mark Duggan, whose death sparked the 2011 London riots, and more recently, the families of the victims of Grenfell Tower. It's clear that Thomas has a passion for supporting the voiceless and vulnerable, and is an expert in claims against the police and other public authorities.

Joining us at Audible Studios is James Acaster, one of the UK's finest stand-up comedians, who has his own Netflix special, a podcast with Ed Gamble and a TV show with Josh Widdicombe. Acaster has written and recently released his second book, Perfect Sound Whatever. We spoke to James about his iPod guy, whether or not therapy was useful to him and the sheer joy he gets from recommending music.

Joining us at Audible Studios is the actor of one of the most familiar droids known to man and aliens alike: Anthony Daniels, best known for his role as C-3PO in Star Wars. Daniels dropped out of law school to pursue amateur dramatics and spent time working at BBC Radio and the National Theatre. His agent recommended he go visit George Lucas, who was casting for Star Wars. Daniels wasn't interested in the role but was persuaded to go along. It was a meeting that changed the course of his life.

Joining us in the Audible Studios to talk about playing the role of Drumknott in Terry Pratchett’s Unseen Academicals is British writer, illustrator and dramatist Stephen Briggs. The writer and illustrator behind many of Terry Pratchett’s Discworld subsidiary works and merchandise, Stephen Briggs, who also classes himself as a ‘civil servant who dabbles in amateur dramatics’, has provided the voices and narration of Discworld and its characters in more than 20 audiobook recordings both in the UK and in the US.

Joining us at Audible Studios is David Wallace-Wells, deputy editor of New York magazine and now climate change writer with his book The Uninhabitable Earth. The book is based on a much viewed article David wrote of the same name which goes through the possible worst-case scenarios on our earth due to global warming, such as economic collapse, famine and overheating.

Joining us at Audible Studios is founder and CEO of Netflix Marc Randolph, who has founded over eight companies and is a serial entrepreneur. Randolph's Netflix journey began alongside his friend Reed Hastings in 1997, when they decided to give mail-order DVDs a try. Randolph, having picked up marketing and other tricks of the trade through previous roles, designed the original user interface and spent the first year of Netflix testing different designs to create the perfect business model for customer satisfaction.

Prof Steve Peters visits Audible to discuss his latest book, The Silent Guides, which draws on what we learnt from his best seller The Chimp Paradox. Steve Peters is an English psychiatrist who has worked with the British cycling team and other sports people, as well continuing to work in hospitals and setting up his organisation Chimp Management. In The Silent Guides, listeners will learn about 'neuroscience and psychological aspects of the developing mind, unconscious thinking, behaviours, habit formation and related topics in an easy to understand way'.

Magid, born in Somalia, came to Britain as a refugee in 1994. He grew up in Sheffield and completed a travelling gap year before studying at the University of Hull, where his foray into politics began, being elected as Students Union president. Entering the world of work, Magid was elected as a Green Party councillor on Sheffield City Council in 2016, and from 2018-2019 he served as lord mayor.

Award-winning author and photojournalist Bella Bathurst talks to Audible about her latest title, Sound: Stories of Hearing Lost and Found. Having lived without hearing for over 12 years, in this interview Bella talks about the changes she had to make in order to adapt to her new life, the impact it had on her work and relationships and the eventual discovery that her condition could be treated and her hearing restored. After nearly dying of septic shock after an emergency caesarean section, Candice Brathwaite started speaking about changes needed in the healthcare system when it comes to the treatment of black women, who are five times more likely to die during childbirth than white women. This experience, amongst other things, led to her first book, I Am Not Your Baby Mother, which went on to be a Sunday Times best seller. Brathwaite is also a regular on Lorraine on ITV, known for her on-point beauty and fashion advice, and is a Contributing Editor to Grazia.

Glover worked her way through the ranks of BBC Radio, starting as a filing clerk, and becoming the presenter of The Listening Project for BBC Radio 4 and My Perfect Country for the BBC World Service, besides many other award-winning projects. Garvey spent a lot of her career on BBC Radio 5 Live, being the first voice heard on the station when it launched at 5am in 1994. She presented some of its main shows such as Midday and Drive, going on to host BBC Radio 4's prestigious Women's Hour.

Giedroyc grew up in Leatherhead and attended Trinity College, Cambridge, becoming a member of the Footlights comedy club. Starting her career alongside Sue Perkins, the duo became the household names of Mel and Sue, known for their baking puns as presenters of The Great British Bake Off, following their stint presenting Light Lunch.
