Amanda and her loyal crew are back travelling the backwater alien planets that dot fringe space when she receives a disturbing message. An old recording from her father, Jonathan Love, summons Mawla to immediately return home to the Lupine planet of Canus. What starts out as a rescue turns into an all-out war between two tribes of vicious, bipedal wolves! And in the middle of all of this Amanda must make a terrible choice: decide what she truly believes in...at the cost of condemning one of her beloved friends to death.

Amanda finds herself in a terrible dilemma as the evil Malco Trent returns, space station IBS5 falls under siege, and Marshal Michael Fallon's life hangs in the balance.
