When Delaro seeks me out, the little witch makes my heart soar in new and unimaginable ways. Unfortunately, Delaro is an Ellwood, and his coven leader thinks I'm out to get him.

But then my ex-girlfriend hired a mind-bender to mess with my memories, and well, it's no surprise that romantic notions flew out of the window for me. I guess it's fitting that the first time I meet my viramore, he points a crossbow at my head and threatens to kill me if I don't get out of his way. Thing is, I've always liked a good challenge, and Hiro Grimbsy is nothing if not challenging. He's kind of a jerk, but I guess I'm glutton for punishment because I can't seem to stay away.

When I was fourteen, I was sucked through a portal to another realm—the land of the fae—and forced to live there for three years. Crazy, right? Welcome to my world. Being an Ellwood means being pulled into the craziest and most dangerous situations while trying to protect the people around you. But I wouldn't change it for anything. For years, every time I visit the land of the fae, something seems to pull me toward the north. Naturally, it's the most dangerous place in all of Faela, so my family forbids me to travel there.

Every fae dreams of finding that one person to complete their soul, but I've waited for so long with no sign of my viramore—my soulmate—that I thought I wouldn't be so lucky. But then I find him. And what a surprise he is. Never in a million years did I think my viramore would be on the other side of things. That he'd come from a place where only evil permeates. That he'd be a monster. That he'd be my enemy. Life's full of surprises, right?
