The Living in Space Series

A manned mission to Mars has been the dream of humanity at least since the 19th century, when we first saw details of the surface and thought there might be canals filled with water there. Here I’ve looked at the history of unmanned exploration of Mars over the last 50-plus years, proposed missions to Mars, Mars settlements, and other major issues regarding traveling to and living on Mars. Some proposals have lots of details of proposed scenarios, if you want to know all of the engineering and scientific analysis work.

One of the greatest adventures in the future of humanity will be to construct, work, and live in space-based structures. In this audiobook, we look at the history of ideas for living in space, proposed space colony designs, and technology. The details of current life-support technology on the International Space Station are reviewed, as well as what technologies will be required for the development of large-scale space colonies and other things in terms of financing and materials.

There are many thousands of asteroids in the solar system, and this audiobook is focused on how do we get to them, live on them, and mine them. There are several known types of asteroids, and the metal ones have the most promise to provide rare materials to fuel Earth’s industries. Also, how would these metals be processed and sent back to Earth? What would traveling to and living on asteroids be like? And what life support systems would be needed?

Humans have dreamed of travelling to the stars for as long as we knew that those points of light in the sky were stars like the Sun. Now, in the 21st century, there are actual studies and plans to send interstellar space probes to the nearest stars. Probably to Alpha Centauri which is only 4.3 light years away. Only! What is the history of plans to get to the nearest star? And what are the plans today to make these ideas a reality?

There is a lot of interest these days in space exploration. After 50 years, we are looking at going back to the Moon to build a base and planning early for a manned trip to Mars. After that, further exploration and settlement of the Solar System will be on the table. One of the main limiting factors for all of this space exploration are the types of rockets and rocket engines available to get there.

In this book, the focus is on spaceships used to access and travel in space. In my research, I was pretty amazed at how many spaceships have been designed, the large number available in the current era, and that many more are already on the drawing boards. Some spaceships like the Space Shuttle seemed like a great idea back in the 1970s and 1980s. But due to the compromises in design were very expensive for each flight and kind of dangerous, too.

This book is the eighth volume of “The Living in Space Series”. Each volume focuses on one particular technology of living in space. This book covers the Astronauts, Cosmonauts, and other individuals who were responsible for some of the biggest space adventures to date. In this book, we will profile those persons who have been the star players in man’s exploration of space, and who have made major space contributions over the years.

In this book, we will cover some of the amazing facts about the moons we know about, many of the amazing objects around our star the sun, and colonization ideas around the solar system. Even though mankind dreams of someday traveling to the nearest stars, our solar system has enough places to visit and colonize for thousands of years. This book lays out the structures and objects of the solar system in detail and discusses which parts of it we should colonize, build on, or mine.

We are at an exciting threshold for the development and deployment of private space stations and more advanced designs from various countries. The advancements in cheaper rockets to carry more payloads into Earth’s orbit in a less costly manner is another trend supporting the development of new space stations and space transportation options. This seems like to good time to update everyone with what are these latest plans, space technologies, transportation options, and more. I’ve tried to include all I could find on new space technologies and plans for working and living in space.

This book gets into the history of the JWST, the instruments it carries, new observations, and ideas of what these anomalies mean. We review some of the most important observations made to date, and finally, some theories of how to explain these incredible views of the early reality of the Universe.
