Story
As it prepared to ward off an invasion by five well-equipped neighboring armies in 1948, newborn Israel lacked the weapons to defend itself. Enter Al Schwimmer, an American World War II veteran who feared a repeat of the Holocaust. He created factitious airlines, bought decommissioned airplanes from the US War Asset Administration, fixed them in California and New Jersey, and sent his pilots - Jewish and non-Jewish WWII aviators - to pick up rifles, bullets, and fighter planes from the only country willing to break the international arms embargo: communist Czechoslovakia.

Story
In 2014, Ian Haney Lopez in Dog Whistle Politics named and explained the coded racial appeals exploited by right-wing politicians over the last half century-and thereby anticipated the 2016 presidential election. Now the country is heading into what will surely be one of the most consequential elections ever. Some want to focus on racial justice head-on; others insist that a race-silent focus on class avoids alienating white voters. Can either approach build the progressive supermajorities necessary to break political gridlock and fundamentally change the country's direction?

Story
"There is a Korean American artist named David Choe, who is best known for his graffiti and mural arts. In 2005, one of Facebook founders, Sean Parker, asked him to paint murals in the interior of Facebook's Silicon Valley office. Subsequently, in 2007, the current FB CEO Zuckerberg commissioned him to paint more murals for their next office. After finishing all the artwork, it’s said that Zuckerberg gave Choe a couple of payment options: “Would you like to get paid by $60,000 cash or Facebook stocks of that amount?” A little oddly, Choe chose the stocks even though the company was ...

Story
Hi, I'm Lisa, and I want to give the word 'budget' a makeover! For most people, the very thought of budgeting makes them want to run a mile. It suggests restriction, going without and only buying the cheapest of the cheap. But at its best, budgeting can mean making smart decisions, planning your spending carefully and having plenty left over for treats. It was only during the December 2021 lockdown that I came across the phenomenon of 'cash-stuffing' on TikTok, where you withdraw your spending money weekly or monthly and divvy it up into sections of a binder.

Story
What would you do if your healthy, vibrant child changed overnight? Where would you turn? Who would you trust? When Pamela Wirth’s six-year-old son began to developmentally regress, she did what any parent would do: She took him to the doctor. Unfortunately, several doctors could not adequately explain or treat his tics, anxiety, lethargy, or unusual vocalizations. Refusing to accept that her son was forever altered, Pam went on a search for answers - and found the right people and right treatments at the right time to bring him back to health. This book is the story of how she did it.

Story
When A’s friend Yarrow goes missing, he knows it has everything to do with Save our Sons and Daughters. The organization markets themselves as a support group for parents with trans kids, but SOSAD does little more than push fears of a nonexistent “transgender craze," and take every opportunity to turn parents against their children. While Yarrow's disappearance is shocking, it's not altogether surprising; kids have been disappearing from the group for weeks. Still, A never suspected that there was anything supernatural about it, until he finds himself face-to-face with a real-life golem.
