Mason was a bad boy...spending the last decade in prison proves it. Except Mason is trying not to disappoint his older brother and is walking the straight and narrow. He is steadfastly avoiding the gang members that lead him down the path to prison. His parole officer doesn't appear to believe that Mason is trying to stay out of trouble but Mason intends to prove him wrong. He has a job as a mechanic and is staying clear of any establishments with gang ties. So far so good. Until he ends up late to his meeting with his PO due to a woman almost hitting him with her car...of course, the PO does not believe the story...oh well.
Mia is a successful business woman, divorced from a cheating douche bag, but she's enjoying her life...until she almost hits a sexy guy. The pair end up dating and Mia finds out the Mason is an ex-con, but she's ok with that...but is her brother ok with that? Yep, the same brother who is Mason's PO...go figure! When members of an organized crime ring kidnap Mia to force Mason to return to the gang, will he give in and work with Mia's brother to save her and bring an end to the gang? Will Mia and Mason ever have an HEA? This was an excellent book about 2nd chances and doing the right thing, even without favorable results. Looking forward to more from this new-to-me author.

This story was entertaining but predictable. The characters was sweet. The narrator did a good job but some of her male voice sounded female it was distracting

This book was pretty good. I am glad Mason got his second chance after being in a prison gang..

Riley Raye did a great job with the narration although it would have been much better if there were male and female narrators. She did a pretty good job differentiating between the characters. I received this free copy audiobook at my request and have voluntarily left this review.

All cops and robbers. Gangs and love. Good pace. Enjoyed from beginning to end. Riley Raye did a fine job. Felt like it could be a true story.

I’ve only listened to one other Amber Daulton audio and it was, to say the least, very different from this one. But I’m always game to try new things and so seized on this one. I like second chance romances – and this very much fit that category. Mason’s newly out of prison. He’s done his time, and he’s got a good job and an a-hole of a parole officer. Then he meets Mia, and everything changes.

Mia’s got a good life – she’s got close friends and a shop she loves. But meeting Mason changes her life profoundly. Suddenly her small existence becomes chaotic as Mason’s past catches up to them. I liked that Mia wasn’t willing to stand back and be the willing sacrifice – she was willing to stand up for herself.

This was a good listen and I’m intrigued to see where this goes next. I see Mia’s brother – who is also Mason’s parole officer – is up next to fall in love. It’ll be interesting to see who’s up for the challenge.

Riley Raye is a new narrator to me and I thought she did a good job. Will definitely look out for her in the future.

The story felt a little shallow at first but when it got started it delivered so I couldn't stop listening.
