About this listen

B.A.D. agent Sydney Westbrook must find the perfect sniper for a risky counterterrorism mission. The assignment is simple: find and kill a hired assassin before he kills a high-profile world leader during a peace conference on American soil.

J. D. Steele, a trained military sniper whose attitude problem landed him in prison, seems like a good candidate for the job since he doesn't have many other options. But it turns out Steele doesn't take orders easily - not even when they come from an intriguing agent who has his number down pat.

As they're dragged deep in to a secret world of freelance killers, Sydney begins to discover the man of honor hidden beneath Steele's arrogant facade. It's a man even Steele didn't know he could be. But how can he fulfill his mission when doing so will risk the life of the only woman he's ever really cared for?

Wrong narration casting

On my first try I even could not finish the prolog becouse of the narration. After a few months I gave it a scond chace. This time I managed to listen till the end, despite of the BAD narration. The voicese of the various charachters the narrator made were horrible. It is difficult for me to rate the story itself because of the narration.
I can not give an objective opinion on the story because of the narration.
I am still wandering if taking a chance and listen to another book in this series is worth my time (money is not an issue since I borrow the book).

Not sure what the issue is

Not sure why everyone complained about the narrator. I thought it was read just fine and professional. I feel the way it was read was read in the way the story was written. I think people need to stop being so negative.

Mediocre Narration

I liked the story. A little goofy at times but entertaining. However, the narrator’s strange, seemingly inappropriate inflections and occasional mispronunciations were somewhat distracting.

Big Fan of Kenyon

Loved the story and look forward to the next book in the series. Not big on the narration, but it wasn't terrible. Cannot wait to read this one and get a feel for the voice I think would fit the descriptions of the characters. Off to buy the ebook.

Needs a different Narrator

As others have mentioned, the narrator is BAD (no pum intended). It was a struggle to get through the book.

Get past the voices and over the top dialog and...

I wanted to hate this book as many parts and voices were so over the top that my eyes rolled back in my head and almost got stuck there... Thanks mom!

While the book was over the top, it was enjoyable once you got past some of the screechier voices. The dialog is definitely meant to have a bit of fun at the genre's expense. I will definitely read the next book in the series to see how the writer proceeds.

Good story, weird narration

I enjoyed the story but the narrator liked to add random pauses in the middle of sentences, which was very jarring and uncomfortable to listen to.

She’s Done It Again!

Trust...

B.A.D. agent Sydney Westbrook needs the perfect sniper. A man with off the chart skills who is totally expendable. A true killer with no conscience.

A pity that what she finds is J. D. Steele a former military sniper in jail for attempting to kill his commanding officer after a betrayal that cut to the very core of this honorable man. A man who has sworn to never kill again. A man whose family have turned their back on him. A man with no reason to ever trust again.

Blackmailed into an assignment to find and kill a hired assassin, Steele struggles with his past and his developing feelings for Syd.

Sherrilyn has written a story where good and evil blur and nothing and no one is who they seem, with an unexpected twist at the end. The only thing for certain is that if Steele can't learn to trust again it could cost him everything including a chance at love and even his life.

I really enjoyed the writing, narration and character development in this excellent romantic suspense.
