Finding her job at risk after an embarrassing mishap, Isabelle is forced to embark on a path to physical fitness, a path, she soon finds, she can't traverse alone. A journey of sex, romance, and struggle ensues as the two women are destined to rise or fall together. Can their fledgling relationship survive the road ahead? With Isabelle's whole world turning upside down the only lifeline is a sexy, naughty, bitchy domme and the tiger within herself that she intends to drag out into the light.

YES!!!

I admit this was the first book by Shawna Hunter I've had the privilege to "read" . . . but it won't be my last. Every part of this book was enjoyable: from the storyline, and the characters, to the narrator. The story was so enjoyable, along with the supporting characters, that I would love to see this become a series.

Better Than I expected

What did you love best about Beauty and the Bitch?

The evolution of the characters

Who was your favorite character and why?

Izzy. She found herself and did not run from it.

Which scene was your favorite?

The library when she finds out about her boss.

Any additional comments?

I enjoyed this book more than I thought I would. If I had not been given this book I probably would not have chosen it on my own. It is not like all the other BDSM audiobooks I have listen to. The character evolution is remarkable. The author paid great attention to the details and for me that makes the book.

I received this audiobook for free for a honest review.

a charming romance between two women.

What did you love best about Beauty and the Bitch?

How the characters changed during the story: Izzy was timid but became bold, Rachel was skeptical and cool toward Iz, but warmed up to her

What did you like best about this story?

How they discovered their mutual interest in kink and how it leads up to a commitment

Which scene was your favorite?

The shower scene where Iz slips, Rachel catches her and fireworks begin

Was there a moment in the book that particularly moved you?

Izzy stepping up to train for the competition

Any additional comments?

Izzy is still a virgin, but she has lesbian BDSM fantasies from reading the erotica of a local author. She hooks up with Rachel for training. The women hit it off and descover their darker fetishes. Izzy worries what the small town will think about her romantic interest and tries to keep it secret. Eventually circumstances change and Izzy volunteers to salvage Rachel's reputation by training for a bodybuilding contest.

The story is a sweet romance with light BDSM in the form of Kitten Play. There are several sex scenes, such as one behind the local sex shop. Izzy is at first a bit stiff but eventually Rachel opens up her character and provides a challenge for Iz to salvage Rachels reputation as a trainer. Rachel is a bit skeptical throughout the story, but she becomes impressed with Iz's transformation.
Will Rachel grow attracted to Izzy? Will Izzy compete in the contest?

Not my preferred genre

This book is not my preferred genre to read or listen to. That being said, the narrator does a great job of delineating between characters and inflection while narrating. The recording seems to have a lot of background noise as well as making it sound like she’s in a barrel.

The story itself is good for it not being my favorite type to read.

Cute

This was a cute story with very short chapters. I was wondering if it's original intention was to be a novella. This is an easy read and I enjoyed wanting to know what happens next to Izzy. I actually think the story line in itself had a great deal of potential. This was the first time hearing Aspen Saint Anne, and although the story line did not present too much of a challenge she did well with changing her voices. I would not mind hearing her it a more challenging lesbian story, such as a thriller. This is the first book I read by Shawna Hunter and although not great I would read another book by her to see how it went.

overall a fun FF story

I enjoyed the story a lot. It is a fun story about a newby to the bdsm world in a town full of fun people. I really wish that when they talked about consent that it had been expressed what they consented to, so to me this was lacking in explicit consent, and this was made obvious at one point. But outside of that, I really enjoyed a character expressing that their desire was purely all their own and had nothing to do with a bad history. We need more of that in books like these! Great read, I recommend it when you need an in between book to bring you back up.

better than Alyssa Kay

I don't care how good the fictional Alyssa Kay might be, the "real" story of Rachel and Isabelle is more romantic, more erotic, and more delightful than anything the town's celebrity biographer could write.

Put simply, a somewhat closeted quiet girl gets involved with a gym trainer after a workplace accident and what starts as a little play turns into a world-changing relationship for both women.

The BDSM elements are pretty much 100% better and more real than any aspect of the 50 Shades series, and the body building components were so accurate that I felt like the author was either a trainer herself or else intimately involved with one.

This story is beyond good, it's beyond great. It's one that, if you are sapphic and/or you have a BDSM sensibility, this deserves your attention.

A note on the recording itself: I am guessing this is a digital copy of an older taped audiobook but the "tape hiss" is quite noticable.
