About this listen

I had the perfect life: an awesome job in advertising, a gorgeous high-rise apartment, and a flirtation with the guy down the hall. Then it all came crashing down. Two months later I was a cocktail waitress living in a tiny one-bedroom apartment. I had also developed a serious "men suck" attitude.

That all changed the night I met the beautiful and enigmatic Conner Savage. But there was just one little problem...he said he was a vampire. Figures a man that hot would be batshit crazy. Or so I thought. It didn't take me long to realize that Conner wasn't a nut job and that I was addicted to him. With every moment we spent together, he drew me deeper into his world and the supernatural culture in which he lived.

Now I had a choice: the vampire I craved or a normal life. Couldn't be easier, right?

Good vampire series

I really enjoyed so far book 1 of this series. The main character does things that are sometimes a bit in great opposition to her morals and etc. but that's extremely minor it's only book 1 but I be very upset of there's no more recorded and released on audible.. The narrator was great.

Smexy Vampire romance

I enjoyed this one ! Right blend of excitement, sexy times and sweet romance. Ive recently been binging on PRN romances but vampires are my new faves. And Connor is sexy and sauve and not so evil like most vampires are depicted in other books. It made me think about family and love and that everyone deserves to love and be loved even if others dont understand. Lucille did a great job with the narration, very emotional at times but i would have loved a male co-narrator too. Im definitely listening to the next story by CC Wood !

Fun!

Listened to and thoroughly enjoyed this hot quirky vampire romance! Interesting characters and loved the writing. Narrator’s male voice sounded a bit robotic at times, female voice was great.

Loved it

The heroin is not the typical don't listen and do as I please. Donna understands that Connor is only trying to protect her and keep her safe. Therefore, Donna has the strength to understand she may not be able to protect her self from those who wish to harm her. To many times in a story the female lead doesn't listen to reason and ends up in mortal danger. Makes me made to no end.

There is a little instant love but not head over heels. Bite Me does have some dark moments but that makes the story even better.
Connor is sexy as are most of the males in this story

Good

The story is good. Some spots of irritation in regards to the mf but not too bad. The biggest issue that dropped my rating was that the narrator has made it almost robotic with her need to over enunciate everything. Not the worst narrator ever but be warned.

Average / Neutral

This was my first book by this author and narrator and I did not love it or hate it. The storyline didn’t grab me and I felt like this was a fairly predictable vampire story. However, there is nothing wrong with the story and I see there are quite a few 4- and 5-star reviews for the print version of the book. Clearly, this book is a win for 90% of readers.
The print (Kindle) version is free so I recommend getting the digital version to see if you like the story. Then, if you like it as much as the 90% who gave this a good review, then make the investment for the rest of the series.
The author has an interesting story to tell, developed the characters well and set up the plot for future books. I love snarky characters. (Read Molly Harper for excellent snarky females.) In this book, Donna crossed the line of snarky and was just contrary. She overly asserts her “I can take care of myself” attitude.
The narrator is fine and again, I’ll go with average to good. When I started listening, I made notes that the narrator used emotion when speaking, which is great! If the character was yelling, upset, or some other emotion, the narrator made it sound that way. As I continued to listen, I found the only way to know whether it was Donna or Conner speaking was by the slight (or not so slight) Scottish accent used for Conner. I didn’t have much issue with the narrator until I started my next book where I can clearly hear different octave levels for the characters and completely different vocal tones (not accents) used for characters. The narrator did a good job. Just not an excellent one.
Overall, this book is not bad and I recommend giving it a try to see if you want to continue.
