About this listen

When he kissed me, I was shocked. He was a stranger and still so familiar. It wasn't until I woke up to my picture splashed on the cover of tabloids that I realized I knew who he was. Prince Alexander of Cambridge. Royal bad boy. Exiled heir to the throne. He isn't Prince Charming. He's controlling. He's demanding. He's dangerous. And I can't say no to him. We both have secrets - secrets that could tear us apart or drive us closer together - and as the paparazzi exposes each one, I have to decide just how far I'm willing to go for king and country.

Any additional comments?

I quite enjoyed this series. Very hot and steamy and a very good story line.

Cliffhangers should be announced in advance!

This was a 5+ star book, until it abruptly stopped with an unresolved ending, saying to continue the story in the next book. Utter BS.

Interested to continue the series

I really enjoyed this book. The characters are intriguing and the plot continues to thicken.
It kept me interested from beginning to end and has me moving on to book 2, Conquer Me.

I've really enjoyed reading about London as well, the setting just adds to the interest. The Royal aspect just makes the drama more intense and adds to the interest. More plot twists mean more intriguing stories. what will happen next? Will they survive the storm? Will the bitch get what she deserves?! ;)

I can't wait to see what happens.

Amazing rollercoaster ride...

I laughed, cried, got angry and still managed to stay extremely aroused through the whole book.. if strong women and dominant men are your cup pf tea this is definitely the book for you... I was hoping that this wasn't the end of their story and only hope that the next book in the series is as good as the first .....

London’s calling...

An American in London found herself in the tabloids lip locked with royalty. The unattainable Prince and the poppet. The royal family had other plans for their Prince making his time with the American a forbidden illicit romance. Alexander gave the only part of himself he was able to give.

Narrator:
Fran Jewel performed the voices of all the characters. It took some time to acclimate to the sound of Alexander’s British account since it was performed by a female narrator. I prefer to listen to male characters by male performers due to the tone and masculinity they can provide. Overall her performance was good. It was read word perfectly with no great sound quality.

Had it not been for this audiobook I would have skimmed this story.
My immediate thoughts went to Harry and Meghan when reading this. I couldn’t help thinking about Harry talking dirty to Meghan commanding her to bend over and spread her legs. Naughty. This prim and proper man had unsavory taste behind closed doors.

Overall:
This was a sexually driven and explicit story. Add in the royalty status and tabloids and you have yourself a scandalous story for the headline news. I kept hoping for scenes without sex. I know I’m in the minority but I thought there were too many sex scenes. The sex scenes were used for shock value accentuating the importance of his want and need.

I’m not one to get excited about celebrity status. I know other readers will gobble this up. I can, however, appreciate the confident male character of Alexander. Alexander was a defiant character not particularly keen on following the royalty obligations. It always fun they break the rules.

Issues:
I was insulted by the statement of her body being made to shag. It was convenient that Clara’s body issues weren’t even an issue until reporters found the information. There’s appreciation for a physical physique and another to be told your body was designed for sex. I didn’t like reducing Alexander to nothing but a pleasure machine, he has to have other skills other than the ability to command pleasure.

No panties with cum in her hoo ha, not a good idea. The scene with her pushing down his pants with her heels is incorrect. She took her shoes off at the door dropping them on the floor when he arrived behind her.
The scene at the ball was disappointing leaving her to fend off the sharks by herself when he claimed he wanted to protect her.

Book one in the Royal saga series. I don’t need more. I got what I needed from book one.

Great start

Alexander and Clara meet and share a mind blowing kiss. She has no idea she kissed the future king of England. The press is after her and the Prince can’t stop thinking about her. This relationship is fraught with people wanting to keep them apart including Alexander. Clara fights but gets fed up and ends it for her own well being. I have a feeling that Alex will not giver Clara up without bad fight even if it means giving up the throne.

Obsessed hero and lots of delicious drama!

I love me an obsessed hero!

Alexander is the prince of England. He's a tortured soul with many political obligations. All it takes is one look at Clara and he's obsessed, but will that be enough?

Clara has no clue who the mystery man is at the party, until she finds herself in the tabloids the next day. Clara is just as obsessed with Alexander but can she navigate all the drama being with him entails?

This first book has a lot of drama! How can you have a royal family and a forbidden love without it? The only thing I wish I could have seen in this first book was for Clara to handle some of the mean snubbing better. I love when a heroine stands up for herself when someone is being nasty. She did do some of the but I admit I would have liked to have seen more.

As for Clara and Alexander as a couple? That obsession they both felt towards each other is what I really enjoyed about this book. I really want to see them work together to fight the world.

This is a cliffhanger and I am diving into book 2 immediately!

Too Much Like FSOG

Is there anything you would change about this book?

The total plagiarism! For 90% of the book all I could think was wow; did the author have any original thoughts. She basically took the entire plot from FSOG with new scenery, scenarios and character names but the premise of FSOG and even a great deal of the dialog is in this book.

The narrator and the great sex saved it.

Has Command Me turned you off from other books in this genre?

Absolutely not!

Have you listened to any of Fran Jewel’s other performances before? How does this one compare?

No I haven't! I'm interested in hearing more of her work though.

Could you see Command Me being made into a movie or a TV series? Who should the stars be?

No!

Any additional comments?

It took me far too long to become vested in these characters. It wasn't until the end and the cliffhanger that made me want to listen to the other books. The 2 chapters of the second book at the end was a great idea because it seem better written than the 1st just from those chapters alone.

Definitely don't spend money on this one.. just use a free credit
