Publisher's summary

Commander Stavros Rii of the Kindred is a Sin Eater. Thick, black lines cover his back and neck causing him to feel the pain of others. It is a curse that threatens to shorten his life and makes him unable to bond with a female - not that he's ever found one he wants to bond with. Until he meets Charlie....

Charlie Sayers is an agent with the Earth Protection Bureau (EPB) and anti-Kindred agency dedicated to ridding the world of the big aliens. Charlie joined the EPB out of a sense of patriotism, but she has her own reasons to hate the Kindred.

However, she has bigger problems than the Kindred at the moment. The Enhanced Ones have come to Earth, and they're planning to take over the planet, enslave the inhabitants, and strip them of all emotion. Charlie can't have that, so she agrees to go undercover with Stavros to find the Heart of Love: an artifact which can destroy their mutual enemy forever.

On their dangerous and difficult mission, Charlie learns that going undercover with your worst enemy can rapidly turn him into your best friend...or your lover. Can she hold on to her beliefs and stay true to herself, or will she lose her heart to Stavros? And even if she gives in to desire, will Stav be able to bond her to him? Or are they cursed to be apart forever?

Female lead is annoying but good book

For some reason I had a hard time feeling sorry for Charlotte. She wouldn't be honest or see reason. She had a chance to talk to someone on the ship. She didn't deserve a punishment but I was kinda glad she got one. She is mostly an immature bitch through the book. Not just the normal denial for feelings ect. Overall the story was good though. I still hate the inner thoughts being whispered. Its annoying.

Amazing

I really don't know what I'm gonna do when I finish this series. It is the best series I have come across since starting Audible!!
After 250 books this is my favorite set of books. Off to the next installment of the series!!! I highly recommend this book.

I never know what to make of the description of these books!

With that thought in mind, I must say that I am always anxious to see how E.A.’s mind will make it into an exciting, angsty, imaginative, yet consistent through the series as she builds the Kindreds and associated trials. I will say with an actual blush on my cheeks that I absolutely love her sex scenes and the constant variety in these hot as fucc scenes she has between each book. Now onto our narrator. William Martin could read a recipe book to me so long as he used his sexy male voices. Even when he is Sophie who is basically as high as his male voice could go, makes me laugh. It’s not his best as Sophie but in this book Urrr’s voice is a panty changer. I don’t mind the director using a whispered voice to illustrate a private thought. It is very effective in illustrating this perfectly that I could suggest other directors do something similar or different to do this. I apologize for this lengthy review but it was several books in coming so high five for reading to the end. Please stay safe Evangeline and William. You provide myself as well as thousands with a way to leave the real world with all the stressors for another where bad tries to win over good but they never do. We need that hope today and for me, you 2 give me that.

Charlie is not my favorite character

Charlie is too whiney for me. I liked Stav a LOT, but felt he could do better...

This was a good one.

There are always some smexy times with Evangeline Anderson writing. If you are this far in the series you are a fan, and this is one of the better books in the series. Of course, I have liked them all, and the hero was as sweet as can be. Narrator has a sexy voice, although his female voice needs a little work, makes the heroines sound a bit whiny.

Still good. Still whispering.

Same story outline as the rest of the books. So if you like 1 you like them all type deal. When are the rest hitting Audio? Started Tales of the Kindred but after book 1 the next book is suppose to be before book 20 of this series.

Highly Enjoyed

I very much enjoyed this book, those with Charlie's return...I kind of wish a certain event would have occurred...maybe it will later though in another book.

I loved Stav, just wish Charlie and him weren't so horse-headed, lol....you'll get that joke after you enjoy the book, promise!

I Couldn't finish it because of the WHISPERING!!

Whispering drove me crazy!
Finally had to give up on listening to it and get the kindle edition to read, I found myself yelling at the car speaker on my commute to stop whispering! Story would just start up good again then the dang whispering would start up all over again!
Great book and not a bad narrator if he would just stop the, yep you guessed it! Whispering!!!
