Publisher's summary

Olivia Waterhouse just got drafted. Problem is, she isn't being forced into the Army, she's been chosen as a Kindred bride. The Kindred are huge alien warriors;a race of genetic traders whose population is ninety-five percent male. After saving Earth from the threat of invasion they demand a reward--the right to find brides among the population. Baird is a Beast Kindred who recently escaped imprisonment and torture. Through the torment and pain only one thing kept him sane; the thought of finding and claiming his bride,Olivia. His need to possess her is a burning intensity that threatens to consume them both. Angry at having her future and her family taken away from her, Liv vows to resist. But Baird isn't going to make it easy for her. Every week he is allowed to touch Liv more and more intimately and according to the contract she signed, she has to let him. She's determined to resist him but his touch sets her on fire. What's a girl to do? Olivia Waterhouse has been Claimed.

Addictive sci fi series

Wow!! I am now addicted to this series!! It is a delicious ride from beginning to end! I wasn’t sure at first, because Sci-Fi is not one of my top genres. No worries, this had such a great story and a well-built world. It was rich in detail and so very creative.

This book sets things up for several romances. The main story is Olivia and Baird, which is very complicated. I really prefer my hero to be Alpha and I see him having those tendencies. It is tough to gauge, because he is healing from his recent imprisonment. Olivia is also a rather sassy gal, which I prefer. Their journey is rife with issues, thankfully it does end with a HEA.

It was extremely emotional in the last quarter of the book. I am not ashamed to admit I was sobbing my face off! I was plenty invested in the romance and what was happening to these two dynamic characters. Part of the reason it was so engaging is the mixed narrative. You get both Olivia and Baird’s POV, in addition you get a couple supporting characters. This is great for building anticipation of the next book, as they are the leads!

The story aside from the romance was great too. I was kind of hoping to know a bit more about the Scourge and how they came to be. There was a nice rundown of the Kindred and their origins, even if it was brief. I am definitely thinking this series will have me devouring books at an alarming rate! I just cannot help but jump straight into the next book!

I listened to the audiobooks narrated by Anne Johnstonbrown, who was a new voice for my ears. I really enjoyed her work here and will definitely be looking for more. She has a swift pace that helps sweep you up into the story. Her energy feeds into the characters and enhances the emotions. Her male voices held just enough of a hint of masculinity to carry them and the women had distinct differences.

This was of course a smexy read, so there was plenty of bedroom action. Loads of hawt detail to keep ya on edge, have that cold shower ready! There is more foreplay than actual intercourse, you will see why if you read it, don’t want to hand you a spoiler! Sigh, if only a gal were lucky enough to have a Beast Kindred focused on her! Yum

The first three books in this long series are out in audio, I am hoping the rest are releasing soon, cause I am terrible at waiting!! I am captured and need my fix!

Munchkin's any one......

Is there anything you would change about this book?

I have loved these story's for a few years now and I have bought 2 of the audible books and I will buy no more, I don't know why I bought the second, I couldn't make it through either. It's intolerable for me to listen to a book I love being mangled. When the narrator tries to do a growling 6'6"+ BEAST man and he comes off sounding like a munchkin from the Wizard of Oz or Charlie and the Chocolate Factory there's definitely something wrong. It grated on my nerves to the point the I deleted it from my iPhone, I couldn't stand it. Then dummy me buys the the second one only to find out, (AGAIN) that I hate the narration. Now there is a third book and I'm sure there will be more, but if this women is reading them I will not waste my money.

What didn’t you like about Anne Johnstonbrown’s performance?

There was nothing that I liked about the narrator's performance. As I said above, too munchkin like.

Not my favorite...by a long shot!

Any additional comments?

I have really enjoyed several of Evangeline Andersons books...this was not one of them. The main character was the issue. She was whiney and annoying from minute one and it never got better. Her saving the day at the end was to little to late...I was hoping she would be kidnapped and replaced by someone more worthy early on. No such luck. Endless comments like "Oh what's happening" or "what are you doing to me" ...this is supposed to be an intelligent woman. I had to put it down often to get through it. I am not sure if I will listen to the next one in this series.

how many times can you heard the word Pussy?

pretty good story... a bit drawn out. I hear the series gets better in second book. My only complaint was how many times the word pussy was used. Gah! also, the narrator doesn't do best job with male voices and emotion but otherwise she did good. she sometimes makes the females voice sound girly and oh so fake.

ummm

Good story, but the narrator could have been better. The FM was very annoying. Whiny and incepid. She kept sending all kinds of mixed signals to the MM . I really wanted to reach into the story and shake some sense into her ughhh.

An amazing love story brought to life by audio

I so enjoyed this book when I read it for the 1st time back in 2012. I have been following the series ever since. Longing after each book for another to be released. Evangeline Anderson is an amazing author and you really see her talent and imagination come to life in this series. I have so enjoyed this series. When I heard that Claimed was ready for per-order I just had to order it. I am so happy I did. The narrator that Evangeline has chosen has done an amazing job. She really gets into the story by putting so much emotion into her reading. The narrator Anne Johnstonbrown really holds your attention from beginning to end. Let’s face it, a good narrator is just as important as a good storyline. With this book you have both. I love to read books wither they be paperback or eBooks, but audio gives you a different feel to the story. So anytime I hear there is an audio of my favorite book I have to get it. It is an experience I wish every person that loves books would experience.

It is funny how much I had forgot about this book. Like Liv’s fear of being eaten alive. Want to know by what or what made her think this, listen to the audio. Then there was the funny thing about the Pizza. I had forgotten how hard I laughed about that. Want to know why, hum, listen to the audio. There is so so much more.

Earth had been attached by the Scourge. The hot sexy Kindred, who was an alien warrior race, had stepped in to protect earth. In agreement earth had agreed to allow women from the ages of 19-35 be drafted which means they will be called to be a Kindred Bride. There were 3 types of Kindred: The Blood Kindred, Twin Kindred, and the Beast Kindred. Only to be within that age group and be swept away by a hot sexy Kindred that truly respect and know how to treat a woman. Women are like this precious gem that they must love, cherish, and protect. I can dream can’t I?..LOL

Olivia Waterhouse or also known as Liv had graduated from nursing school and had great plans for her future. She had a twin sister and a best friend that she loved very much. Though she was drafted she had hope to never be called.

Baird who was a Beast Kindred had been dream sharing with Olivia. Baird could not wait to claim his bride. The dreams were troubling to Olivia but to Baird they kept him sane from the horrible things that were being done to him. Baird didn’t just want Liv he need her, he longed for her, everything in him had to have her.

Claimed is this amazing love story of two soul mates who are hopefuly being brought together by a force greater then themselves. You get to witness an amazing journey and struggle that these two people need to go thru. Will they find their way to each other? Listen to the audio to find out?

Beast Kindred hold a special place in my heart. They love hard, protect, and would lay down their life for their mate. I truly enjoy how they mate. Man how I would love to be swept away by a beast kindred…LOL

Olivia who was mad at being taken away from her sister, her best friend, and career had determined she was going to fight it all the way and oh how she fought. (Yummy) Baird who was madly in love with Olivia was determined to win her and claim her no matter what. It was like a battle, a war, between the two of them. Both felt like they were fighting for their life. Baird who felt like he could not live without her and Olivia fighting to hold on to the things back on earth that she cherished so dearly. Who would win this battle? Listen to the book to find out.

Trust me when I say you will not be disappointed in this book. I can only hope that the rest of the series will be able to be brought out in audio. Thank you Evangeline for all the hard work that you have done on writing this series and thank you for bring the 1st book out in audio. I truly did enjoy listening to this audio.
