Publisher's summary

Marek Wisniewski is a man used to being obeyed, whether it's by his patients or his lovers. When he's hired to be an in-home nurse for an extremely difficult old man, he's certain he can handle it, until he comes face-to-face with Ryan, his client's son. Both men have reasons to dislike each other, and neither is pleased when they're forced to live under the same roof. Ryan wants Marek gone, and Marek wants to bring the beautiful and spoiled Ryan to his knees.

Ryan Chadwick seems to live a charmed life, but underneath his polished veneer of arrogance and success, he’s miserable. Ryan feels, increasingly, like his carefully constructed life is spinning out of control. All it'll take is one little push to bring his world crashing down around him.

Marek and Ryan clash again and again, causing Ryan to further question who he is and what he wants. Marek brings out a side in him he didn't know existed, a side that wants to please and obey. Marek’s desire to teach Ryan a lesson in humility becomes, over time, a lesson to show Ryan that who, and what, he wants isn't shameful.

Two very different men come together and discover that what you want and what you need aren't always the same thing. They find that you need to pace yourself at a Polish dinner, how building snowmen is not rocket science, that a mansion on a lake doesn't guarantee happiness, and most of all, how important it is to let go.

Daddy Issues is a steamy romance in the North Shore Stories series. This book follows Be My Mistake and Damage Control, but can be listened to as a stand-alone novel.

Warning: The story contains BDSM elements, fisting, a blanket fort, an embarrassing butt plug, lots of food, and a HEA.

Good

Its a good book and I love this narrator, Michael Ferraiuolo does a amazing job with giving each charachter there own personality and voice.
What kinda killed the book for me were the chapter names, nothing came as a suprise becouse the chapter title already told me what was gonna happen in a long sentence.

So good

THIS WAS SO GOOD. My favorite of the series by faaaaaaar.

This story had my emotions all over the place. Ryan is so deep in the closet, I loved him so much. He was so confused, lost and conflicted about everything, but deep down he's a great man who's just looking for acceptance. Marek was Ryan's perfect match. Watching him guide Ryan through his stubbornness and doubts was amazing to see.

This was basically perfect, I can't stop raving about it.

The narrator also knocked it out of the park.

No issues with Daddy Issues! 5+ stars!

The bar was set at the loftiest of heights by Damage Control, and Daddy Issues had no trouble meeting it. Penned by Lynn Van Dorn and narrated by Michael Ferraiuolo, this second audiobook in the North Shore Stories series was one that I'd been eager to listen to ever since I finished the series starter. Ryan Chadwick was not necessarily a villain back then, but he certainly didn't make it easy to either sympathize or empathize with him. However, Van Dorn slowly but surely peeled back those layers and exposed who Ryan was with the help of the other main character, Marek Wisniewski, the in-house nurse tending to Ryan's father. I loved seeing this more vulnerable version of Ryan, and how Marek provided what he needed rather than what he wanted. Yes, there's a BDSM aspect to their relationship, but that isn't what their story is about. There are complexities to both men and their respective situations, and their evolving relationship was fascinating. Ferraiuolo, as expected, takes Van Dorn's story to a whole new level of excellence. I highly recommend Daddy Issues. Five-plus stars! ♥

Amazing story!!

Michael Ferraiuolo did an amazing job narrating this complex story. He did a great job keeping Marek’s accent consistant. His performance was absolutely brilliant!! This story is full of emotions. Regret, despair, anguish, strength, love and devotion. The audio takes you on a beautiful journey!! I highly recommend it!!

Better than the first

Sometimes I'm really glad I'm the kind of person who just HAS to read/listen to the whole series I can't do just one or two I'm too curious to see what happens and I was really not looking forward to Ryan's story, I didn't like him and I was not expecting his love interest to be Marek. I love when a characters turns my dislike into pure love, there is so much more to Ryan and even his relationship with his father and brother Tyler (I wish we saw more of that) It was a beautifully emotional story of love, surrender, acceptance and family. It's a bit long and can drag but stick with it so worth the time.

Ryan finally redeemed himself and get his HEA

If you love Tyler’s story then this one is hard your head around because Ryan is so lost and needy and confused. This one is dark because of the subject matter of domestic abuse but also because of the D/S love. The North Shore series is just angsty in general but I love every minute of it. I am glad Ryan gets to tell his story in his own way. Lynn doesn’t pull any punches and Michael did an absolutely phenomenal job. Since I am not native Polish I can’t speak of the authenticity of the accent but it sounded so lyrical and I love every minute of it.

The Other Side of Ryan

So I loved the first book in this series, Damage Control by Lynn Van Dorn, but I was also rather outspoken about how very unhappy I was with Ryan (one of our MCs for this book) So of course, when this book showed up on Audible, I had to see life from Ryan's perspective and get the chance to see his amazing side.
Well, Lynn did not disappoint. I love Ryan now too! Oh and Marek was amazing. I loved how Marek saw through all of Ryan's B.S. and brought out the good in Ryan.
I also really loved Michael's narration, his accents, and just how well he brought all of the characters to life.
So good!

Interesting Story

I really enjoyed the narration on this story. Michael Ferraiuolo does an excellent job with the different voices and accents and really made it possible for me to listen to this story. This story is different from what I usually like and I chose to listen because I have liked some of the author's other stories but this one was written with a different dialogue and I found myself being pulled out of the story far too often with the constant day/date/location updates throughout the story. If those hadn't of been present I think I would have enjoyed the story a lot more. Overall a good story with a lot of depth for the characters.

Another winner for Van Dorn

I don't know how I could have expected anything less than perfection from a Lynn Van Dorn/Michael Ferraiuolo production, but Daddy Issues surpassed my expectations. The text is wonderful and raw and emotional, and the performance amplifies all of its best qualities and hits you right in the heart. There is so much to love about this authentic love story. Marek and Ryan are perfect for each other, and the family they build made me melt.

Do not sleep on this book. It's one that will stick with you long after the epilogue.

Surprising in many ways

The book begins with Ryan who has a fiance but continues to show up at Patrick's door for comfort and sex. Patrick quit his job with Ryan and tells him repeatedly to stay away, but seems unable to refuse him when he turns up. It appears for the first chapters that we will be following Ryan as he struggles to be honest about his sexuality and Patrick as he develops a backbone and their final happy ever after. Then, the author pulls a very clever trick. One night when Ryan appears at Patrick's apartment, Patrick appears with a group of friends he has been out with and Marek is casually introduced as one of those friends who happens to be a nurse. At this point, I really just wanted Ryan to go away - what a jerk! Cut to a Christmas party and its aftermath when Ryan drives his father home. Oh lordy, such a despicable, controlling, homophobic, sexist old man. At this point, everything about why Ryan is the way he is becomes crystal clear and you feel nothing but sorrow for him. No detailed spoiler here, but during this car ride Ryan's fiance says everything we'd want to say to his father who responds like the reptile he is, but promptly has a stroke. Ryan assumes she will still marry him and let his father live with them as he now needs care. She being no fool leaves him and guess who comes as the private nurse, Marek. Marek scopes the situation out and finds the way to help Ryan and change his life. The scenes where Marek takes control of Ryan and helps him learn to let go, submit and accept care are breathtaking. You as the listener will need to accept some of that care too. Every time I took a break from this book to do some real life task, I realized the story and the reading by Michael Ferraiuolo had me tied up in knots just like Ryan. I had to decompress for a bit every time. The ending is lovely and perfect and more people get happy ever after than just Ryan and Marek. The narration is amazing. It seemed like there was a whole cast performing this, women, men, accents allare spot on and seamless. Gotta go see what else Michael Ferraiuolo has done. Do not miss this if you want to get tied up in some emotional knots for a while.
