Isabelle

Jericho St. James hates my family.

Powerful, wealthy beyond belief, he's the most dangerous man I know.

And I belong to him.

He’s taken me from my home.

He'll make me his wife.

And he’s made it very clear I’ll be sleeping in his bed.

But my beast has a secret.

His one weakness. One that makes hating him impossible.

He has a daughter.

And he’ll do anything to keep her safe.

Jericho

The Bishops stole what money cannot replace.

A life for a life. Now I’ll take one of theirs.

Isabelle is my pawn.

I will make her my wife.

I will bed her.

She will be mine in every way.

And once I take what I need from her, I will erase the Bishop family as if they never existed at all.

Love can be found in the worse people.

I enjoyed this book. The only thing I have a problem with is how the "herione is written. The way Isabella was betrayed was just disappointing. Not to mention, that she's just like all the other" heriones are written, stupid, to gullible, to ridiculous. For once I would love to read about a female character that is truly strong and doesn't give in so easily. But other than that, I enjoyed it.

Couldn't Stop Listening

The storyline is very interesting with suspense. The main female character doesn't seem weak and I really liked that about her. The main male character let's just say... he's very dark and twisted in his mind. lol I thought it was funny how the main characters couldn't just refer to each other by just the first name but had to say the last name too the hate was real. LOL The only thing I didn't like was that the story is a CLIFFHANGER... I will definitely buy the next book when it comes out.

What the WHAT?! Spoilers ahead!!!

I must start with a freaking love Natasha Knight books! They are always dark, brooding but also hot AF. This story held true to her style and gripped me from the start. Jericho is hurt and angry, out for vengeance, Isabelle is innocent, soft and not of his world at all. She is no match for him and, sadly, that doesn’t change throughout the book.
Thankfully this is a duet as I’m hoping to get a little more backbone from Belle but I keep forgetting she IS only 19, I knew nothing about nothin’ at that age and she is sparring with a MAN. A man who knows the rules and how to bend them in his favor. After the explosive revelation revealed in the last line of this book I’m SO GLAD I can go right into the next one! Which I’m doing right now. Thank you Natasha!
Loved the narrators too! Trevor Murphy and Stafanie Kay really helped bring the story to life!!

Wow!

I could listen to Stefanie Kay all day. The narrators nailed their performance making the storyline much more enjoyable. I could see myself on a deserted Island with a couple of Natashas stories on deck, and I would be content.

Great plot and narration!

This is the second series on the society that I have read.

I love the story line and twists and turns it takes. I think I have figured out who the bad guys are but seem to be wrong every time.

A DARK, SUSPENSEFUL, HOT, UNSTOPPABLE DUET

After listening to all of Natasha Knight’s previous Duets and Trilogies I know her cliffhangers are gripping and brutal on you.. so I forced myself to wait until book 2’s release before starting this Duet. And I’m so glad I did because this deliciously dark and riveting story immersed me back into the wicked world of The Society, their Privileged Families, their much revered Sovereign Sons and their traditions, brutal practices and birthrights. (First book Requiem of the Soul). That Trilogy has a dark anti hero.. but I think, in this book (even if he’s a caring Dad) Jericho is even worse!! - but both are blinded by hate and anger, fuelled by pain and ghosts and bitterly focused on their ruthless revenge. And Jerico’s revenge is aimed at Isabelle Bishop and his visions of destroying the family that has been at war with his for decades. But she’s a naive, innocent, trusting nineteen year old Virgin who doesn’t know about her half family’s feud.. or that the Devil has locked his sights on her. Or that he has wicked wicked plans for her.. twisted, barbaric, hate-filled plans just because she’s got some Bishop blood running through her veins. However, she may bend to his rules, but she will not break.

And the riveting, suspenseful, chemistry-fuelled bitter vendetta that follows is a twisted volatile one with secrets and no trust as hurt, pain, bloodshed and heartache follow a forced marriage where both sides will lose. It’s a one-sided war, a slow-burning toxic journey, a hot and heated sexual awakening, a slow redemption with much needed character growth and (eventually) a deep love forged from flames. There’s evil villains to uncover and stop, good secondary characters and a sweet five year old daughter who needs saving in her own way.

Worth a credit? Always a yes.. and, in this tension-filled angsty story between a damaged hero and heroine, Natasha Knight has given me all the things I love about her dark and depraved romances. Her skilful talented world-building.. her twisted thrills and chills.. and her friction-fest off feels were all wonderfully brought to life by Stefanie and Trevor who made the dual POV chapters emotional and epic.
