Publisher's summary

The vampire Roke is raw, sensual, always in control. Yet somehow, he's allowed the unthinkable to happen: a nymph-like witch named Sally has used her magic to trick Roke into mating with her. The pair will remain bound for eternity unless Sally breaks the spell. The trouble is, she has no idea how....

Mating with Roke was an accident; at least that's what Sally keeps telling herself. She's on the hunt for her demon father, whose identity holds the key to releasing the spell. The search won't be easy with Roke shadowing Sally's every move. As they mate with a ferocity that leaves them both aching for more, Sally isn't sure if her world is more dangerous without Roke - or with him....

Contains mature themes.

book great performer blah

the performer lack inflection, reads too fast and needs to learn to pronounce foreign names and words!

Ugh

Couldn’t get thru this one. Narration was better suited to a children’s book and made the plot sound inane and silly.

I MISS ARIKA RAPSON

I Still love the story but I can’t stand the new narrator she doesn’t pronounce the names correctly and it drives me crazy. Hate it when an entire series has one narrator for years then changes.

Love the story; hate the narration

This is my favorite Guardians of Eternity title, and it took forever for it to be recorded and released. It’s a pretty major disappointment due to the really bad narration. The over-enunciation and stilted diction make the flow seem stagnant. Character voices were ok, and I still love the story, but this performance was simply bad.

Great Storyline, awful narration

I really enjoy listening to this series. I love the development of the characters. However, this is the first book in the series that I paid for and was disappointed with the narrator. She speaks too clipped and formal. it's difficult to determine when she's changing characters sometimes.

The new narrator ruined it!

Guardians of Eternity # 11
Hunt the Darkness by Alexandra Ivy

The four stars that I gave this book are strictly for the author and the story she created.

Only one of those four stars is for the narrator. I will never, ever, understand why any author/publisher would okay a narrator change this far into the series. But if there has to be a narrator change due to circumstances beyond your control, I would think that the author/publisher would at least try get someone similar, who pronounces things the same way and tries to use the same style as the original narrator. Tanya Eby is NOTHING like the original narrator in any way shape or form. In fact, she is so bad that I’m only going to give her one more book to grow on me and if she doesn’t then I’ll be done with this series on Audible. Which means that if I read any more of this series, it will be the old-fashioned way… On Kindle.

Okay so Kindle isn’t old-fashioned, but for someone who prefers audiobooks to reading something herself, Kindle is the epitome of old-fashioned. I’d also like to add that I am so disappointed by this change that I have no desire to continue this series any further, but like I said above I will give her one more chance to redeem herself but if nothing changes then I’m just going to call this series done.

This narrator was not one of my favorites.

I don't think she is the same narrator from previous books in the series. It sounded like she was speed reading half of the time. And some of her impressions of the characters left much to be desired. The story was fine but nothing as good as some of the earlier volumes in the series.
