Publisher's summary

Fate kept bringing them together when the world fought to keep them apart.

Danny Rider, Operator Grim Reaper

I never thought I could change. My main purpose in life has always been my career and my team. That is until my tainted soul met the sweet and angelic Ari Alvarez... my dead best friend's sister.

Her love has become my newest addiction. Just when things seemed to be okay again, there's an evil that lurks. A new threat I'm determined to protect us from.

Ari Alvarez

After meeting the sinfully handsome Navy SEAL, my life has changed... forever. After my brother's death, I felt like I needed to take control of my life, and it was a new era of drastic changes. That's when I met Operator Grim Reaper. My shell has been obliterated by him in all the best ways. Even though Danny makes me feel safe, I still catch myself looking over my shoulder.

Will the constant darkness that's been inflicted upon them finally tear them apart?

Better

First reaction…I really liked it. Several things bugged me. The fight in the rain…most of the stuff she brought up was dumb. She only mentioned one of the really important things. At the end…she was nearly dead…blue, low blood pressure, ect. But she can have sex, no problem. I hate love triangles. I don’t mind someone being into a main character, but when feelings are returned, and signs are mixed, I hate that. I hate that Kane was given voice in this book. It was Ari and Danny’s book. Kane had no place. I didn’t like how thoughts didn’t match actions. Danny kept saying/thinking, she’s mine, I’m never letting her go. Then the scene ends and when a new one starts, he doesn’t act on those thoughts. Frustrating, that happened several times. Ari’s grief was heartbreaking. Danny’s even more so, only because he didn’t get to feel it or express it. He just kept taking care of her. His feelings about her almost dying, losing the baby, everything, were never addressed. He got $h;t on in this book. But I felt his emotions. I wish he had expressed them.

Great story line

As a military Veteran and military wife myself I enjoyed the story line and plot twists. So glad they ended up together. Can’t wait for book 3.

Great mix of spice and drama

It’s a good mix of spice, drama, and plot twists. However, as someone in the military, you can tell there are quite a few small errors in the story that wouldn’t quite be true. Unless you’re in the military though you wouldn’t notice. The male counterpart of the audiobook did have a slight lisp though, it was quite off putting at first.

The female lead is awful

Her character is ridiculous. I don’t know if it’s the annoying narration or the character.
