About this listen

He is rich and famous, and dark in ways I shouldn’t find intriguing but I do. I so do. I don't understand why his dark side appeals to me, but the attraction between us is rich with velvety promises of satisfaction....

In the best-selling style of Fifty Shades of Grey, Lisa Renee Jones delivers sexy thrills and heart-pounding sensuality with a tantalizing pause resistor in which the eyes of a high school English teacher are opened to a world she never knew existed, and she finds a passionate craving within that she never knew she possessed.

The journal comes to Sara McMillan by chance, when she inherits the key to an abandoned storage locker belonging to a woman named Rebecca. Sara can't resist peeking at the entries in the journal...and she finds a scintillating account of Rebecca' affair with an unnamed lover, a relationship drenched in ecstasy and wrapped in dark secrets.

Obsessed with discovering Rebecca' destiny after the entries come to an abrupt end, Sara does more than observe the players in the woman's life; she immerses herself in the high-stakes art gallery world Rebecca inhabited - and is magnetically drawn to two men. Which one seduced Rebecca with his masterful and commanding touch and brought her fantasies to exquisite life? On a daringly erotic escapade, Sara follows Rebecca's path to fulfill her own hidden longings. But after she tastes the forbidden pleasures Rebecca savored, will Sara be helpless to escape the same submissive fate?

Next in this thrilling new trilogy: look for Being Me and Revealing Us.

OMG THE ENDING

Any additional comments?

So let me start out with that, I was not sure what I was getting when I picked this latest read from my TBR list. What a great discovery this was, Inside Out Trilogy has become of one of the most Erotic Mystery HOTTNESS reads for me. If I were you was a great start to this trilogy what started out as some personal erotic journals lost in a storage unit that Sara inherited, that eventually turns into to so much more. Started out I truly thought the main hero would be Mark Compton the Sexy art gallery owner and controlling boss man and I was inwardly hoping for it not to be because something just was not right about Sara and Mark’s connection. What I thought would be mixed love triangle truly wasn’t and oh was I so happy and head over heels for Chris Merit the hotty, dark, rich painter who in return is our Hero in this mystery read. I will not give too much away, but I will tell you this I was so happy that I had the second installment Being Me on hand because the cliffhanger in this one was truly torture. This was an Amazing read I was glad that I picked this for my next read.

If I Were You

This book has a fifty shades feel to it but more mysterious. I will continue with the next book even though I hate cliffhangers!! I am curious to know more about these characters but I am most interested to know what happened to Rebecca. This book was definitely intriguing and worth my credit.

****WOW****

What does Grace Grant bring to the story that you wouldn’t experience if you just read the book?

Grace Grant ( in my opinion) is THE BEST NARRATOR ever!!! I love all of her voices..

Any additional comments?

This book is well worth the credit or to just buy... Its alittle like 50 shades but I like this book alot better... Because of the Narrator ( of course) and also its not as intense... The ending is kinda sudden but definatly leaves you wanting more.. Really good sex, and really good story.. Cant wait for the next one to see what happens..

It IS intense...make some time for it

Not sure where to begin...this book has hotness galore, just not sure what kind. Perhaps I should say it has hot chemistry galore and the potential for something truly hot...with bits and pieces thrown in just to drive you nuts!

It's a good story about a woman (Sara) who comes by some journals...these journals detail the life of a reluctant submissive (Rebecca). Rebecca writes about both loving and hating her sexual life, and give the overall feeling of a woman who isn't sure who she is or what she wants, and both loves and hates the idea of giving over control to someone who she isn't sure deserves it. It isn't flowery and it isn't sweet, these are journals of confusion with some dark elements eluded to. After reading these journals Sara feels a bond with Rebecca and wants to talk to her....but Rebecca can't be found. Her journals don't name names but Sara figures out where Rebecca worked and lived...but she isn't in either place anymore.

While trying to get information on where Rebecca might be Sara accidently finds herself working at the art gallery and in Rebecca's office for the summer....this is all too surreal as Sara's lifelong passion has been art, but to pay the bills she is a school teacher and gave up on her dream of being in the art world years ago.....that is until now. From the moment she steps foot in that world her world changes....will it just be for the summer, or is this her new life...hopefully that will be in book 2!

I liked the characters, I really liked the relationships that I see building among many characters but I was so afraid to get this book due to the over exaggerated cliff hanger many reviewers have mentioned. Is it a cliff hanger, well yeah, but it isn't a mind bending plot cliff hanger...frankly it wouldn't have kept me up nights but I waited for book two anyway, so no biggie.

This book is a romance, and a mystery, I highly recommend it.

Another cliffhanger

What did you like best about If I Were You? What did you like least?

Would be worth listening to if the story had an end, but this is another book that doesn't resolve so you are forced to purchase the next set of chapters. It is not good enough to make me pay any more to hear the end.

Has If I Were You turned you off from other books in this genre?

It has turned me off from Audible books.

What do you think the narrator could have done better?

Finished the book and not done the new audiobook trick of selling half a novel.

Could you see If I Were You being made into a movie or a TV series? Who should the stars be?

Definitely not.

A unique story line, great series.

This is my first review of this book, it is my second time reading the series.
What I like about this story line is that it is very well rounded.

It is filled with mystery and intrigue around all the Characters, all the characters that interact in this story have their own secrets to be discovered.

The book is narrated by the ever talented Grace Grant. It begins with two roommates Ella Ferguson and Sara McMillon discovering the journals of a young women named Rebecca. They discover the BDSM world she gets wrapped up in and then discover Rebecca has disappeared.
Sara can’t let go of the mystery and ends up trying to find Rebecca to return her journals to her. During Sara’s search, she ends up getting involved and taking over Rebecca’s job.
Sara meets hot and sexy artist Chris Merit who fights his feelings for Sara and is resigned to protect her from her arrogant dominant boss Mark Compton. Sara soon discovers Marc and Chris have a hate/respect relationship and Chris vows to protect Sara from the clutches of Marc Compton.

Too many episodes/pieces of this story!

What did you like best about If I Were You? What did you like least?

The Boss Mark seems like he is being set up to be a Dom somewhere
Descriptions of the Artworld and the schmoozing that is required to sell art

What did you like best about this story?

It seemed to be a mystery-romance. BUT the mystery is not solved and it has a cliffhanger ending.

What about Grace Grant’s performance did you like?

Very expressive and emotive. Does different voices

Any additional comments?

It is kind of annoying how many "pieces" of this book there are. Rebecca's Lost Journals, the love story told from different POV, etc. I wish I could just find out what happened to Rebecca and then I stopped caring what happened to the lovers--same old same old with regard to that!
