Kink is a dynamic anthology of literary fiction that opens an imaginative door into the world of desire. The stories within this collection portray love, desire, BDSM, and sexual kinks in all their glory with a bold new vision. The collection includes works by renowned fiction writers such as Callum Angus, Alexander Chee, Vanessa Clark, Melissa Febos, Kim Fu, Roxane Gay, Cara Hoffman, Zeyn Joukhadar, Chris Kraus, Carmen Maria Machado, Peter Mountford, Larissa Pham, and Brandon Taylor, with Garth Greenwell and R.O. Kwon as editors.

The stories within explore bondage, power-play, and submissive-dominant relationships; we are taken to private estates, therapists’ offices, underground sex clubs, and even a sex theater in early 20th-century Paris. While there are whips and chains, sure, the true power of these stories lies in their beautiful, moving dispatches from across the sexual spectrum of interest and desires, as portrayed by some of today’s most exciting writers.

Torretta review

Loved CMM, and garth, and a few of the others. Chee let me down. Loved the fruit imagery from the first one. all the Trans-related stories fell really flat

Really disappointing

There were a few good stories in this collection. I really loved Safeword, Canada, and Reach. The others did not make it worth buying this whole book. Some were just okay. But many were dangerous and irresponsible depictions of kink. This collection seeks to show a variety of ways people explore and understand kink, but the lack of consent in so many of these stories is alarming. While I know that's part of some people's journey, I want an intentionally kink space to honor the need for consent and negotiation that are so important in relationships/interaction that involve kink. And these weren't stories that were depicted as an erotic fantasy where consensual-non-consent could be understood to have happened outside the story, some contained abuse or rape. I am really disappointed and don't recommend buying this collection.

The Inner lives in which kink nestles.

If you love Mr. Greenwald’s beautifully written works, you will love these stories. If you’re looking for one handed porn go elsewhere. These stories are orders of magnitude more interesting. They describe the inner lives in which kink nestles. I recognize myself and others I’ve known in this community. We are complex individuals, and so very much ALIVE. And that’s what these stories are about.
