I happened on Lara Adrian's books by accident and I am so happy I did. I find this series to be extremely entertaining, well thought out, and written very well. This is the second book in the series and I can hardly wait for each of the installments to hit the book stores. Now that they are on Audible, I am a very happy camper. I love to listen to the books as I read along because I want to know how some of the words and names of the characters are pronounced. I can also get into a very Zen kin of place and really get into the Breed world. After the first intense listening, I can listen while I do housework, laundry etc. It seems to makes the work go faster too!! BONUS!!!

I hope Audible continues to carry Ms. Adrian's books. She has 7 books in print and the 8TH is due in print on Aug.31,2010. Who knows, maybe Audible will catch up by then and ALL HER BOOKS WILL BE ON AVAILABLE ON AUDIBLE!!!

This is a wonderfully written book in the series, I like how the characters are drawn together slowly and how they both need something from each other but they don't want to put the faith in it until closer to the end, when they realize they need each other to survive mentally.

I listened to the first book in the series and was a little put off by the behavior of the characters, but interested enough to give the second in the series a listen. I am glad I did, this book was much better.

The characters are believable and more importantly, likable. If you are a fan of the paranormal fantasy series, you have to give this series a try.

Would you listen to Kiss of Crimson again? Why?

Not only is the performance done well, but the actual development of the story keeps the reader interested. Surprising is how well a female performer can handle the storyline consisting of mostly male characters.
After listening to this story, I immediately wanted to listen to #3. I would have no problem listening to this series again!

What was one of the most memorable moments of Kiss of Crimson?

There's a point in the story when the male lead character realizes something very important and makes a life altering decision that results in another life altering decision from the female lead. Don't want to give it away, but it was poignant.

Which scene was your favorite?

The ending of this book compels you read on as it only reinforces the connection between the reader/listener and the captivating characters created in the series.

Lara Adrian breathes new life to the common vampire lore when she creates a new community/breed of vampires in her Midnight Breed Series. Although the communities are different, Adrian's writing style is very similar to JR Wards style in her series The Black Dagger Brotherhood. Similar premises and notions albeit very different story lines. Basically, if you enjoyed the BDB series, you'll like Adrian's Midnight Bread series also. I would say that Adrian's series is less illicit and more hardcore action/suspense.

The narration was good, although I noticed that Hillary Huber changed Savannah's accent from unaccented in the first book to seriously "southern" in this book. I don't mind because it ensures character distinction, but it was a bit unexpected.
