My name is Ace Bissett, and I used to think magic was a hoax. Now I’ve got four dark, sexy gargoyles at my beck and call, magic bursting from my fingertips, and a curse that’s proving ridiculously hard to break. Juggling all of that would be a challenge on its own, but when you add in my day job as a detective? It’s almost impossible.
But all of that stuff is the least of my worries. A new threat has risen in my city, and it looks like the murderer is going after anyone with an interest in the occult. That makes me the perfect person to stop him…but also the perfect target. And the deeper I dig, the more I realize that this isn’t an accident. The murderer is trying to get my attention, and if I don’t unmask him soon, this could be the end for not just me, but the four gargoyles who have become more important to me than life itself…

Amazing book.

Storyline seems like it should be great. Read books with similar stories and loved those and this one had its own twist on it.
They never really go to deep on anything. Lover’s relationship just happened in book one and no real battle or “boom” or feeling on it. Same in book 2. Action parts are good and seem like a should be great but everything just had no feeling in it. I don’t know how to describe it.
Readers were good but was also kinda bland. But they did a great job switching voices.
Again, I can’t figure out if it’s the storyline or the readers. Maybe both. That just made this book good but not great.
Don’t get me wrong. Book was good, readers were good but it just had nothing that made me sit at the edge of my seat and beg to hear next chapter. This may just be a personal issue. 2 books in and even with the big cliffhanger, debating on book 3 still.
I still think this book was worth the credit.
Good but bland
