About this listen

Kara: Once, when I was young and stupid, I had that boy. The charmer, the Adonis, the one who torched every woman's panties in our small town. He was my brother's best friend, practically part of the family. When he proposed, he promised me forever. Then the bastard disappeared without a word.

It's taken five years to get over Ryan. I drowned myself crying a thousand times over. I moved on.

I'm finally remembering what it's like to smile, when guess who shows up? Everything about him is different. For one, he's become a freakin' billionaire. He walks like he's Mr. Tall, Dark, and Alpha incarnate. I know there's no justice in the world, because his body matches his huge ego.

Worse, he wants me to play Cinderella again. I can't. I won't. I don't believe in second chances. I'll never forget what he did.

Ryan: I did a terrible thing. No, I'm not talking about the filthy secret that wrecked everything.

Leaving Kara killed me. I didn't have a choice. No amount of money, success, or bedding any woman I want whenever I flash my patented smirk makes up for losing her.

She was the one. Hell, she still is.

Contains mature themes.

Unfortunate things happen to good people at the worst possible times and it’s what you do with it that says who you are to overcome it all. Making a future with the one you love even if it takes you five years but they do get a HEA. You get an 18 month glimpse into their future. It’s a little unrealistic but hey you’re in a book world to escape. No cheating or angst.

the story was good but failed to hold my interest. Nothing out of the ordinary and most of it was a tad unbelievable. Charles Constant and Shirl Rae did their voices well but the voice that Charles used for Reggie and others was just terrible! Reggie sounded like a dying 90 yr old man. He was supposed to be a wealthy, vivacious male in his late 20's -30. that ruined much of the story for me as well!

lacking creativity

This was just a good story. Nicole Snow writes good stories, but I find her female lead characters lacking intelligence. Cara was not smart in many parts of the story. I found myself short tempered with her thoughts and actions at different parts of the story. I loved the narrators. Excellent jobs in creating the emotions with their voices.

Just a good story

The story is very alluring and keeps the reader drawn into the plot... The ending is goal worthy romance... The performer is a very strong reader and has a smooth voice... I would recommend a male reader with this performer for male parts or for the reader to adjust her voice for male areas...

The plot is very good, although it could have been done better. It seemed to leave out pieces, or bounce around, but was still enjoyable. Not one I’d highly recommend, so add if you can catch it on sale.

Bounced around a bit.

The story is....OK. Some of it reads like a high school student wrote it and the sex scenes have some truly awful comments. Not awful as in *Gasp!* "How dare they print that! but along the lines of *Eyeroll* I can't believe someone thought that was good. The voice actors don't help, either. The female sounds like she is reading, not acting, half the time and the male actor sounds creepy. He would make a great villain but does not make a great 'good guy'. The entire thing needs a good revamp.

Meh

The title really says it all. The way the characters think and talk to each other is sometimes ridiculous and the characters have their priorities so warped. Not an enjoyable listen.

Characters are silly, dialogue is overdone

Fuck all of this story! Matt is a terrible god damn best friend. Kara is understandable stupid cause she was 18 and didn’t have closure. But marrying someone you clearly don’t love and forcing yourself to love him is stupid as hell. The mother and father god damn disgust me. This story was terrible. Yall want to fight for Ryan at the 11th hour. Be fucking for real! Even if he did become a murderer them turning their complete backs on that man was weird AF! I don’t like stories like this cause it’s like clearly y’all don’t honor family. How your dead husband who was a sellout tell you that this man’s family is pure evil and sadistic but then you go try to marry your child off to him. SMFH wps!
