Publisher's summary

Wall Street Journal best-selling author Nicole Snow returns with a fierce and hilarious office romance where two sworn enemies make undeniable lovers.

My “interview” with bosshole supreme was anything but normal.
He picked the worst day ever to chase me off my favorite park bench.
I retaliated with a spray of cinnamon latte all over his Italian shoes.
Then - for some unholy reason - Magnus Heron offered me a job.

Even his name sounds like a piece of work.
Guess what? He is.
But when you're single, broke, and barely surviving in Chicago, you hop on the gift horse offering a six-figure salary and ride.
I picked the stallion on a one-way trip to hell.

It's not the impossibly long hours working under Grump-zilla.
It's not the fact that he's snarly, demanding, horribly rich, and chiseled.
It's not even the pesky way he makes me blush every flipping time we're together.
Mag is my boss. I'm his lowly assistant. Some rules are carved in stone.

That's my mantra until we're sharing a sunset too beautiful for life.
Alone with wandering lips, whispered secrets, and disaster in the making.
The plan was simple: punch the clock, get paid, and keep hating my boss.
What's the blueprint when the office grump brings me to my knees?

Full-length enemies-to-lovers romance with the banter, intrigue, and slow-burn love worthy of a happily ever after. The bossman from Hades meets the hellion he totally can't stand - until he can't live without her.

Amazing

I enjoyed this book from start to finish. The narrators brought the authors work to life.

Really liked this book!

I feel like it’s been a while since I had a book I couldn’t stop listening to and that had me halt my daily cleaning during the best parts. The female narrator is one of my favorites since her animated nature always lends something to the characters. The length didn’t feel as long as I thought it would and I felt it was great. I don’t think this book will disappoint anyone.

Good story, terrible narration

Ugh! I loved loved loved this story and book and I was so excited to have this on audio!
Unfortunately, the male narration was so bad, it detracted from the story. His voice sounds garbled, under water, almost as if he had a flu or something. When he would narrate as a female, it was even worst and did not convey any emotion. It’s unfortunate because the story is good but I could only focus on his voice. When it was his turn to narrate the story, I found myself fast forwarding or skipping the chapter all together.

Story was fine, narration was awful

It pains me to criticize someone who’s doing something I’ve never done, but the male narrator on this book was terrible to the point of not wanting to finish the book. The storyline is actually heartwarming, but tbh, the intimate scenes were borderline unbearable bc of the voice.

GOOD FUN

Light read, that lifts your spirits. Good characters, including a funny mom who writes romance books with a farm setting. 😂

Very good narration & plot. It was definitely a “meet cute.”

Really loved these two!

This is a wonderful enemies to lovers story! This is one of my favorite tropes. So i had high hopes for this book. It is filled with ups, downs and witty banter. Plus a female who doesn't back down from an demanding, pushy boss. I laughed many times and others just had a smile on my face. The names that Brina comes up with for Mag is impressive!

The two have definite chemistry. Sometimes it flys off the pages! I enjoyed watching these two change, grow and become better. Thats nit to say it all fun and games in here. This does have a serious side that shows up now and then.

The secondary characters are plentiful. I did enjoy a lot if them. Paige is a best girl friend ever! Ruby—OMG that girl deserves a medal! She is a rule follower but breaks them now and again. Then I want to briefly mention Armstrong. While his part was small he activity in the story really added to it.

I did listen to this gem on audio. The narrators did a wonderful job.

Enemies

Sparks fly and passion heats up as Bri and Mag fight their feelings. This steamy read it hard to put down. The narrators do a fabulous job bringing out the emotions.

It Was Good

It was good but not great. There could have been more banter which would have made this book great. Towards the end during the break-up the lead female character should have made the lead male character work harder to get things patch up. This was another place she could have added more banter because in real life there would have be hell to pay from the person who was the jerk. Like for example if the lead character would have at least thrown something at the lead male character that would have been satisfying however Nicole Snow tends to write about young lead female characters that have no real life experience, while her male lead characters tend be older, macho, and have lead full lives before they happen upon the twit of a idiot female character that they fall madly in love with. In this book the female character was a little stronger but like girls her own age she falls into the pitfalls of being young and inexperienced. Most authors have their characters grow in experience as the story goes along, not so with Nicole Snow's books. She is a good writer but also very predictable which makes her stories have a lot of lag time. I often have hard time finishing her books right away, it takes me some times to finish a story and will often put the books down and read other authors. Don't get me wrong I Do usually finish her stories and am usually stratified with them but I have to be in mood to read them. I had higher hopes that this book would have been one of my favorites but it wasn't. The narrators are almost always spot on with Nicole Snow's books and I usually enjoy listening to them read. I give this book 3 1/2 stars and the narrators 5 stars making it 4 stars overall for me.
