About this listen

He was supposed to be a myth.

But from the moment I crossed the River Styx and fell under his dark spell...he was, quite simply, mine.

Society darling Persephone Dimitriou plans to flee the ultra-modern city of Olympus and start over far from the backstabbing politics of the Thirteen Houses. But all that's ripped away when her mother ambushes her with an engagement to Zeus, the dangerous power behind their glittering city's dark facade.

With no options left, Persephone flees to the forbidden undercity and makes a devil's bargain with a man she once believed a myth...a man who awakens her to a world she never knew existed.

Hades has spent his life in the shadows, and he has no intention of stepping into the light. But when he finds that Persephone can offer a little slice of the revenge he's spent years craving, it's all the excuse he needs to help her - for a price. Yet every breathless night spent tangled together has given Hades a taste for Persephone, and he'll go to war with Olympus itself to keep her close....

I liked the story, but wanted to skip through so much of audiobook because of the voices. The voice Alex used for Persephone sounded like a child’s voice sometimes. The voice Zara used for Hades sounded like a dying troll or old witch stirring her cauldron.

Oof

It was ruined for me by the female narrator reading Hades like an old man with loose dentures. Completely un-sexy.

Loved it! Can't wait until book 2!! Narration was great. Perfect twist on the Persephone and Hades mythology!

AMAZING!!

The story was just as good as I’d heard. I can’t wait to listen more of her stories. I thought both narrators did a nice job. ♥️

Amazing.

Loooved this version of the Greek Gods. Narration was good, not my favorite though. The male actor in my Opinion was too old for how Hades sounded in my head... Not bad just not my flavor.

It’s more of a job title in this story and let’s just get this out of the way now, Zeus is a total d-bag and we hate him. The FMC just wants her life to do with what she wants and she’s counting down the days until she’s 25 and gets her trust fund and can get the hell outta dodge. Her mother decides to spring a little surprise on her at a party and our Persephone is not amused to say the least, she has to get out before the same fate befalls her as did all the other Hera’s. She takes off towards the river styx with a few henchmen on her heels and right into Hades arms, he just happens to be out for his evening stroll. Oh the things they get up to once this bargain is struck. 🔥🔥 the narrators were great.

The story was alright and the characters had a lot of background on them which was good. I thought the split chapters was a nice touch. The only real thing I have to complain about is the repetition of some of the same sentences, I feel like hades says 'I'd do anything for her' or 'she's a goddess' like 10 times and it feels like it was copied, pasted and then slightly changed. That was a little annoying.

Enjoyed it overall

The story was lacking and the narrators voices were distracting or off putting especially during the spicy scenes. When the male narrator did Persephone’s voice it was hard not to laugh at times it’s was kind of cringy and same with when the female narrator did hades voice.

Just okay

Worst performance ever
The woman puts on a horrible man's voice that spoils the whole book.

This book was not only hot, but the characters actually had fairly healthy communication. I loved the story and the narration.
