Publisher's summary

The Marriage Contract: Booktrack Edition adds an immersive musical soundtrack to your audiobook listening experience!

Teague O'Malley hates pretty much everything associated with his family's name. And when his father orders him to marry Callista Sheridan to create a "business" alliance, Teague's ready to tell his dad exactly where he can stuff his millions. But then Teague actually meets his new fiancée, sees the bruises on her neck and the fight still left in her big blue eyes, and vows he will do everything in his power to protect her.

Everyone knows the O'Malleys have a dangerous reputation. But Callie wasn't aware just what that meant until she saw Teague, the embodiment of lethal grace and coiled power. His slightest touch sizzles through her. But the closer they get, the more trouble they're in. Because Callie's keeping a dark secret - and what Teague doesn't know could get him killed.

*Booktrack is an immersive format that pairs traditional audiobook narration to complementary music. The tempo and rhythm of the score are in perfect harmony with the action and characters throughout the audiobook. Gently playing in the background, the music never overpowers or distracts from the narration, so listeners can enjoy every minute. When you purchase this Booktrack edition, you receive the exact narration as the traditional audiobook available, with the addition of music throughout.

Great background

Very good story. The background music was great I think you’ll love this book. I just hope it doesn’t raise the price of the books

Details of characters

Wish book was longer. Loved the characters and how they came to life. Can’t wait to listen to next book.

Narrator breathe’s life

I love the story the emotions that goes into it, but Charlotte really breathe’s life into the book. She uses a perfect Brooklyn, gangster tones, and inflections, and accent to the point where it actually brings it to life I think it’s a very good series, with the book being good by itself. This is the second one I’ve read, I accidentally read book two first and I wanted to read the first one I recommend, not only the book, but the series it’s self to everyone. I plan to read the rest of the series.

Distracting background music

I found the constant instrumental background music (mostly piano) to be extremely distracting. The music choice did not enhance the listening experience at all. It felt mismatched with the storyline and actually made me like the story less.

Meh

We can understand some lying in a mafia book, but this heroine was just too much...and not in a good way. She lied and lied and lied. Even after several people were shot, beaten, kidnapped and/or killed because of her, she kept right on lying (by omission). Even when the other "bad guys" were telling the truth and trying to be stand-up guys and gals, she just kept right on lying. And the thought that some guy's dick is so magical that a single touch can make her lose her mind and forget that she's put two families in danger is just ridiculous.

We're in the last hour and can't wait for it to be over. She's finally going to tell the truth, but damn, after 7 hours and 20 minutes of lying, we're over it and we can pretty much predict what's going to happen from here.

And the Booktrack 'thing' was nothing but a distraction in this case. We've heard it done really well for other stories, but in this case the music added nothing, and in some cases it didn't really match the scene and pulled us out of the story several times.

Disappointed because we usually LOVE Katee Robert's books. But in this case, not so much.

Wanted to like it

The narrators accents were so bad that I couldn't get into the story. I even tried fast-forward to the juicy stuff... nope. Stopped a quarter of the way through. I don't think this was the authors best performance either, I might have been willing to read the actual soft cover
