About this listen

One of New York Times best-selling author Samantha Young's most beloved couples returns for the first time in a brand new novella set 10 years after her blockbuster best seller Before Jamaica Lane....

Nate and Liv have a great life together, but they miss the spontaneity and freedom they enjoyed early on in their romance. Careers and their children have inevitably kept them busy, so when Nate discovers Liv is feeling disconnected from him, he plans an anniversary trip to the idyllic seaside town of Hartwell, Delaware. There, he hopes they will have the opportunity they've been craving - a chance to reinvent themselves and fall in love all over again.

With each new day comes a new adventure, from wedding crashing at the five-star boardwalk hotel to pretending they are two strangers having a chance encounter at the boardwalk bar. In the midst of this daring, sexually-charged game of romantic rediscovery, Nate and Liv discover the only constant they need is each other.

A great read. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Great read!! Didn’t feel like a novella packed full of everything I was expecting. Samantha Young always gives her readers a beautiful stain glass window to peek into her characters lives.

5 Star Passion

A line from Before Jamaica Lane that stood out to me was "Sex . . . it isn’t love.” However I feel that Liv and Nate's relationship was built around sex. Even though they started off as friends and had common interests. Once their sexual arrangement started, the friends aspect went out the window. And that's very evident in this book, to why their problems started, lack of communication. Liv mentioned that because of their jobs, kids and life in general their sex life changed. Which in most relationships it does, however similar to their main book, I think a lot of their issues could have been avoided with a conversation. When Liv was talking to Jo and then her argument with Nate, most her points and hurts were related to sex. But the really issue here was lack of communication, which Jo pointed out. And later Nate and Liv realized towards the end of the book.

Now this book still reminded me why Liv and Nate are my favorite character in the On Dublin Street series and that's their passion. This couple rather have a passionate argument, than give each other the silent treatment. And I appreciate that. The spicy scenes between them, like always was having me fangirl. I enjoyed watching them find their way back to each and fall in love all over again. Great little novella to pick up where Before Jamaica Lane ended. However I would have liked some chapters that took place directly after the main book, maybe their wedding or birth of their children. Feels like there was something missing.

I loved this book as a sneak peak into what's going on in their relationship now. And check in with the other characters in this series. And I loved that it took place in a different location, plus giving me my first introduction to the Hart's Boardwalk characters. Now I want to read those books.

Oh Liv & Nate

Oh, my word! Ok, so I am a huge fan of LIV and NATE from the series On Dublin Street. So this novella was the icing on the Cake!

I felt so many emotions; I had a tear in the beginning and laughs in the middle and swooning by the end. These characters bring me back to when I first listened to ODS and how they made me feel.

I loved getting a little glimpse into them now but also how they tie into Hart’s Boardwalk it was completely perfect.

I loved the narration it was exactly how it was from their book. Sigh too bad I don’t have time for a relisten.

Narrator Issues

Okay, are Lee Angel and Angelica Lee the same person? Lee Angel narrated Before Jamaica Lane (Liv & Nate's full book) and her Scottish accent was terrible, and this one sounded exactly the same.. It was all garbled and painful to listen to. Y'all. Get someone who can actually speak in a decent Scottish accent if one of the main characters is actually Scottish. ALSO, she gave Joss the terrible Scottish accent. Joss, who all fans of the On Dublin Street series knows, is American.

Story was pretty good, but I didn't like how mean Nate was.
