About this listen

There are certain truths evident in the new state of the world: Humans are less than nothing, supernatural beings reign supreme...and Elias Ivers always gets what he wants.

When he finds out his prized human slave has been snatched away from him by Khaz, a low-class whore, and made a vampire, he doesn't care what he has to destroy to claim Noah as his own. If that includes the budding feelings between Khaz and Noah, so be it. The fight for the fledgling is fierce and hot, but in this game of sex, pain, and intrigue, can anyone other than Elias truly be a winner?

Now that supernatural beings have seized control of the world, life has become a struggle for the humans who once held power. Witches, vampires, and werewolves determine the fate of every single human, but their moral compasses have long since been shattered.

Rebels, free humans, and slaves all share dreams of hope, mercy, love, and more. But with their fate so uncertain, survival isn't enough...and they may have to sacrifice what is nearest and dearest to them if they want to change their lives.

Bought, Ravel, and Recoil feature different characters whose lives begin to come together in Owned and Temper. This dystopian series explores different aspects of the world, from utter darkness to the shining lights waiting to emerge. Because of this, the books range from dark erotica to romance to horror to action(ish) to bits of other things in between.

Beautiful

I loved the book so much. I’ve read the series so I wanted to listen to the audios as well. This was fantastic. It has been, so far, my favorite audiobook in the series. It had a lot to do with the absolutely beautiful voice the narrator give to Khaz. But it wasn’t only the voice. It was also the pain, the despair, and all the emotions so amazingly well portray, that made me enjoyed it as I couldn’t imagine I would. There wasn’t mystery to me because I already know the story, but listening to it was a whole new experience. It make me remember why I loved it so much.

I did have an issue about it, the pace. I felt too slow to a point I needed to fast the narration speed. It was that easy to correct, so it didn’t change my overall emotion about it. To anyone who hasn’t read or listening to the series, it won’t work as a stand-alone. It is important to read it in the correct order.

Emotional journey

This one broke me down with the harsh cruelty of these beings. I didn't think I could hate Elias more, but I was wrong. I was beyond sickened and furious with him. I could not believe how cruel Jace has become. He's a fast learner from his evil master Elias. it's hard to say which one is more hurtful now. If there is any fairness, I'd love to see Elias suffer a painful death. The narrator enhanced my experience ans made the characters come alive.

Loved it

I loved listening to the audio of Owned. I read all the books in the Fate of the Fallen series and this book was one of my favorites. Now after listening to the four books in the FotF series I decided that Owned is my favorite audiobook. The story is so powerful, so full of character development, dramatic scenes and perfect combination of 4 different POV. Narrator did a good job bringing this story to life, I increased speed a little bit and enjoyed the listen. I cannot wait for the next book in the series. Highly recommend to all fans of the FotF world.

Owned is book 4 of this Dark new World we are in. This book picks the story up exactly where book 3 ended and I couldn't be more thankful.

Jake Noble is amazing with this series. He could read me the phone book and I would be happy.

If you have gotten to this book then you know this is a Dark, Nasty world that R. Pheonix has build. Its wonderul.

Dark, Violent and Deprived

Owned is the fourth book in The Fate of the Fallen series by R. Phoenix. It is a unique, dark and captivating world created within this series and the characters pull you in even when they are making you just a tad uncomfortable in thier cruel inhumanity.
This book continues the story of Noah and Khaz but interweaves it with previous characters as well. Well written, incredibly creative and uniques... this story continues to suck you in and make you need more.

Jack Noble narrates this story and does a fantastic job matching the mood with a smooth and haunting voice.

Awakening

This book continues where Recoil left off with Khaz having turned Noah without his knowledge. Noah wakes up with no memory of his past but knowing that there are things he may not what to remember in his new found circumstances. Noah and Khaz have a Sire/Childe bond now that allows them to feel the others emotions and this reinforces their connection even more.
There is still the matter of Noah being a slave and Khaz's debt to his owners Noah being a newly born supernatural does not clear that debt. This is where Elias and Jace from book one come into the picture. Elias and Khaz agree on a deal that would allow both Khaz and Noah to be debt free but at a terrible cost.
This book made me think about alot of things. What makes one man the hero and one man the villain. The "bad boy" in romantic situations always does the wrong thing for the right reason and would never make choices where his love paid the price. We find that even the victims can be the abusers and that nothing is as it seems. In the end the question of what it really means to be owned is still something that I feel is left to be answered.
I highly recommend this book with the knowledge that this book has many triggers and if this is an issue procede with caution. Jack Noble as always really shines as he portrays all these wonderful/terrible people.

I won this audiobook but this is my honest review.
