Bland reading, but OK story.

I got this because the title sounded risqué, and the stories are fairly well written.

There is little lead up to the good stuff, which I like, but that also means there isn't a much character development. This wouldn't be much of an issue in most stories if not for the monotone of the narrator. It feels like he is bored reading the story.

Wouldn't recommend this unless you are really into the subject matter and don't mind a boring reading.

Same story repackaged over and over

Each story is very hot on its own but each story is identical with different names and backstory. Exact same age ranges, exact same relationships dynamics, exact same visual descriptors, exact same “activities”, exact same outcomes, etc.. it makes the collection boring after the 3rd story.

Good, but....

The narration was good, he got a plesant voice to listen to. I liked the stores in all chapters and some even made me laugh. I did however find it a litte sad that 85% of the sex scenes started the same and was the same all the way to the end. Was basically a repet just with different location/names/participants. The "dirty talk" was also repeted a lot and (I know its just a book) it just didnt sound right.
Still really hot and a good listen and I recommend it :)

mind numbingly repetitive, huge waste of time.

How did the narrator detract from the book?

The narrator reads in a monotone voice, with virtually no emotion.

What character would you cut from Pounded by the Gay Men Who Raised Me: The Complete 27 Book Series?

All the "Uncles" and the stepfather...

Any additional comments?

27 cliche, repetitive, unsexy, unemotional stories with almost the same "uncles and daddy" fantasies, complete with the same wording!....ugh.

NO, NOPE, NIX and UH-UH

I'm sorry to say this but this "Complete 27 Book Series" sounds like a vinyl skipping 27 times. There's not even a stop nor an introduction for every story. I got loss in a maze of the same stories with different scenarios which I managed to hear.
The title says it all - "Pounded"-yes, "by gay men" - yes, "who raised him" - yes and boy it's 9 Hrs & 14 min.
Was it sexual or sexy? NO! Was it erotic? NO!
It's like a marathon narration of more of the same plus the narration was monotone which did not help.
Putting the 27 stories together was not a very good idea nor was it a deal. Now, if you want listening to a broken record, then this is for you. Sorry Mr. Paigeman. I never give bad reviews...never-ever.
Your premise was good unfortunately that's where it ends.

Unacceptable

This was so very bad. I could only manage to listen to the first 30 minutes or so. The book's author was also the narrator and he did such a horrible job. It was simply unbearable. I totally wasted a free credit buying this book.

The difference between erotica and bad porn is...

What would have made Pounded by the Gay Men Who Raised Me: The Complete 27 Book Series better?
So... Don't get me wrong - I like porn... There is romance, then there is "erotica," then "porny," and then... bad porn. In romance, I like reading about the whispers in the ear, and gentle kisses, and to be teased with almost no "dirty" details (potentially, just the idea that sex is possible). I like reading erotica, which goes further into the lurid details of every act, but with an artfulness to the writing. I like "porny," I've read lots of the stories that are fantasy stories, where you don't care anything about any character - you just want the dirty details. Then there is "bad porn." This can be fun, but more in a "let's make fun of this," kind of way. Whether on video, audio, or written - it's the kind of thing that is almost a
caricature of itself. The kind you would send your friends because it's so awful you can't stop watching/listening/reading. Think of someone having sex that has the vocabulary where there are 4 semi-imaginative words for "hole," and then says "Oh yes, **** my ," about 78 times, using them in random rotation.

What could Andy Paigeman have done to make this a more enjoyable book for you?
I cheer on anyone that has written anything and made it available for the world, and there are many that will enjoy this book, just as it's written and will love every moment. I am not that person - though, I did get a lot of laughs. That may sound mean, but truth-be-told, nothing below the waist stirred even a little - and that's not difficult with me. And the scenario presented should have made this perfect - but... It just didn't work.

Would you be willing to try another one of Andy Paigeman’s performances?
I feel like there is more to Andy than what is in these pages (or minutes) - I think there could be an expanded story - and that might even be told! But through 9 of the "books" (which are small chapters) I had to stop, unless I was in a bad mood, and needed to laugh.

What reaction did this book spark in you? Anger, sadness, disappointment?
Laughter - which... In sex, is most often not a good sign.

Any additional comments?
Part of this might have also been the tone in the reading. The audio equipment sounds quite hollow, but aside from this - the main character sounds as bored while describing being pounded, as I was waiting for anything of substance to show. "*Sigh...* So that's when he put his massive... **** up *sigh* against my tightness... *sigh* I knew... *sigh* that the day *sigh* I'd always dreamed of *sigh* was... here... Bueller... Bueller... Bueller... *sigh* Bueller..." The energy just wasn't there. Maybe with a reader that sounded nervous and excited, I could have joined in with that excitement, regardless of the language - but... No.
