Publisher's summary

Don’t talk to strangers.

Zak: Tattoo artist. Independent. Doesn’t do relationships.

Stitch: Outlaw biker. Deep in the closet. Doesn’t share his property.

On the day of Stitch’s divorce, lust personified enters the biker bar he’s celebrating at. Tattooed all over, pierced, confident, and hot as hellfire, Zak is the bone Stitch has waited for life to throw him. All Stitch wants is a sniff, a taste, a lick. What follows instead is gluttony of the most carnal sort, and nothing will ever be the same. Forced to hide his new love affair from the whole world, Stitch juggles family, club life, and crime, but it’s only a matter of time until it becomes too hard.

Zak moves to Lake Valley in search of peace and quiet, but when he puts his hand into the jaws of a Hound of Valhalla, life gets all but simple. In order to be with Stitch, Zak’s biker wet dream, he has to crawl right back into the closet. As heated as the relationship is, the secrets, the hiding, the violence, jealousy, and conservative attitudes in the town rub Zak in all the wrong ways. When pretending he doesn't know what his man does becomes impossible, Zak needs to decide if life with an outlaw biker is really what he wants.

As club life and the love affair collide, all that’s left in Zak and Stitch’s life is mayhem.

Warning: Contains adult content - a gritty storyline, explicit language, violence, and torture

I’m pretty open minded, but. . .

I don’t expect that I’ll like all MCs in books, but these fellas flipped in personalities enough that I was rolling my eyes. Even so, the story was interesting enough for me to see where it was gonna go. I don’t suffer triggers and will listen to just about anything, but I had a hard time believing the behaviors with the inconsistent personality traits.

The choices the author made in the end really turned me off and left me so unsatisfied. Spoiler alert: I mean, of all the people that deserved to die? That one?! And like he wasn’t gonna be missed? I would’ve believed it more if it was one of the other members. And Zach? This guy who threw a gun outta his house because he didn’t wanna be part of Stitch’s illegal activities is now helping to bury the bodies? And then going home to wash up and have sex? Gritty characters are one thing, but I can’t see him acting like that in the end.

The narrator was good. A bit monotone at times, but I could get into the story enough without tripping over his narrating which gives a narrator a thumbs-up in my book. If I can forget that I’m being read to, then they’re doing their job well. Each character had distinct voices and it was easy to follow the dialogue.

A raw and gritty romance

This is a story about an outlaw MC member who is very deep in the closet. In walks new blood that he just can't resist.

Stitch is very controlling and a bit violent in the relationship, but for some reason, Zak allows it, and keeps letting him come back.

The Hounds of Valhalla are a dangerous, homophobic group of men. They are getting more involved in serious illegal activities that make Stitch very uncomfortable.

When the two MCs are found out, things go from bad to worse, and the danger amps up. But, after the climax of the story, they chose a different path that will lead to a safer, and more satisfying life for all involved.

This is a new narrator for me, I think he did a great job. His character differentiation is really good and his pace is consistent throughout the book.

Dark & Sexy

An action packed story with drama, violence, a little romance and hot sex. Stitch is a biker and has to stay in the closet because of the MC he belongs to. Zak just moved to town and when he meets Stitch, it's an instant attraction that can't be denied. Sttch is definitely not a good guy by any means but Zak can't resist. Lots of mayhem and violence follows for these 2 as they try to make things work. The narrator did a great job bringing the story to life and with all of the character voices. I voluntarily reviewed a gifted copy of this audiobook.

dark story but so awesome

Stitch is in the Hounds of Valhalla MC and in the closet.
Zakk is a tattoo artist who sees something wonderful in Stitch I am not sure the rest of us saw.
This a dark and gritty romance.
This book is not light and fluffy, but of so worth it.
Wyatt did an amazing job with the voices in this one. He really bought the scenes to life like we were there in the shadows watching what was going on.

Dark, frustrating, rough.

I don’t like stupid people that does the same misstakes over and over and then some wors...

It all takes place in a rought, abusive, homophobic environment and I wanted to strangle most side characters (and sometimes the main) but I couldn’t help wanting to know these guys and get them to the end of the book.

Dark and Sexy MC

Stitch is a closeted biker for the Hounds of Valhalla. Zak is a sexy tattoo artist new to town. The two have a hot and secreted relationship, only to be discovered by everyone Stitch wished to hide it from.

I didn't always care for Stitch, but as selfish as he was, I could tell he cared for Zak and he really did try to make things work. That aside I loved the MC part of the story. All the gritty, dark, and intense moments when things went wrong were detailed beautifully. The intimate parts were hot, sexy, and erotic.

I thought Wyatt Baker did a great job and will be listening to more audios by him. I liked how he changed the voices for each character. It helped to bring them to life.

Passionate. Unrestrained. Violent.

Looking for fairy tale approach to a Motorcycle Club romance? Move right along , Road of no Return is most definitely not it.
Yet, if you're interested on listening about Stitch and Zak , two perfectly imperfect , snarky heroes and a ragtag of violent misfits as secondary characters, get it this audio.

Road of no Return is an intense, brutal, thuggish , ruthless story that doesn't shy away from the grittier, homophobic and dark going ons and mentality of the members of an outlaw motorcycle club.

An in your face , no hold barred tale of lust, love, revenge, anger and everything else in between. And , I had a great time listening to it.

Wyatt Baker is the right narrator for this uninhibited audiobook; his deep, raspy voice , pace and intonation fits perfectly.

Disappointing

Okay let me start off by saying I hated the narration in this book.. and it had nothing to do with Wyatt Baker.. He's just reading the book.. but that's EXACTLY what it sounds like, that someone is reading a book to me rather than being pulled into the story. So in my opinion that's just not great writing. Wyatt's voice was pleasant to listen to and his character voices were Spot on! So 5 stars for him.

MILD Spoilers Ahead:

Now for the story... I Loved the IDEA of the story, but for being a tough Biker I found Stitch to be weak. Nobody took him seriously or considered him to be a threat. His Ex-wife cheated on him, dictated when he could or could not see his daughter, and had her new lover staying with her at his house. I don't know of any BIKER in any story that would be that much of a push over. The wife nor her boyfriend (or really anyone) Seemed to be afraid or take this club seriously. When facing off with another Biker gang Stitch and his club were made to look like fools with no retribution.
I do LOVE Stitch and Zack's Romance though; it truly came across how much these two really do LOVE EACH OTHER. and how much they were willing to sacrifice just to be together. I fell in love with their love. The things that were done to them in the end, all the injustice with no reward, made me feel anxious and frustrated. it was honestly difficult for me to finish the book. But I powered through because of their love story. I would've really liked to see Stitch get to Rise up and become a SERIOUS BADASS, maybe even Joining another MC and come back to put Hounds of Hell in their place. I have to agree with other readers comments that this book seemed to end abruptly and after all was said and done left me feeling bereft.

So hot and passionate

If you're into clean, safe, good guys, then turn around, this ain't the club for you. There's a tattoed wet dream named Zak, who walks in the Hounds of Valhalla bar and meets a raspy voiced, long haired biker named Stitch, and their hot headed romance explodes in a ride full of angst and passion. Stitch is rough and rowdy and shameless, but lives with a huge secret that comes out the day he meets Zak, and their relationship is sweaty, dirty and sexy. The book is full of sexy moments but also has unexpected tenderness and realistic reactions, and though Zak and Stitch may not be to every reader's liking, they are certainly attention catching and believable, and with a pure message: be yourself even if it cost you blood. The narrator did an amazing job, he had the perfect voice for Zak, soft, deep and plummy, and for Stitch, all raspy and mischievous, and his performance hit all the right emotional notes, especially the intimate scenes, which were narrated perfectly, as well the scenes where emotions ran high with anger. The story is exciting and the audiobook brought the characters to life and a new level of hotness.
