About this listen

**Adult audiences: book includes violent scenes**

Savage Secrets is the newest title in the USA Today best-selling series!

When the past is impossible to ignore, love may be the only way to survive.

Caterina Cruz has no home. No loyalties. No objection to exacting torturous revenge. Her life's mission is to destroy the terrorist who murdered her family. Then she steps into an elaborate game of charades alongside a Titan Group operative posing as an arms dealer - and her newlywed husband. The sexy distraction may be more than she can handle.

Attacked with a psychedelic drug weeks before, Rocco Savage is plagued with hallucinations that threaten his new rank as Titan's second-in-command. No one knows, and he wants to keep it that way. Throwing him further off his game, he now has a wife with her own secrets he can't crack and an agenda he can't control.

Their mission - an elaborate deception of heated glances and passionate kisses - spins out of control. With Rocco's mind already compromised, can he keep his secret and his distance? And with Caterina's tragic past controlling her every move, can she keep the con up long enough to secure her revenge? Or will both go down in flames?

Savage Secrets

What made the experience of listening to Savage Secrets the most enjoyable?

I feel like I'm right in the middle of the story. I love the experience of listening to the story instead of just reading it. I can remember more of the story as when I read myself I tend to go so fast I forget stuff.

What other book might you compare Savage Secrets to and why?

Winter's Heat, Sweet Girl, Garrison Creed, Westin's Chase, Gambled are all very similar stories but have different story lines of course.

What about Jeffrey Kafer’s performance did you like?

I love his voice! He is very good at doing the different voices for each character. I feel he does a great job making each character have their own personality.

Did you have an extreme reaction to this book? Did it make you laugh or cry?

This is my favorite of the Titan Series. I laughed and cried throughout this book. Anytime a book does that for me it ends up being a favorite. The story line for Cat was so heartbreaking. She had gone through so much. Also Rocco was battling his own problems but together they were able to be strong for each other. Also the bad guy in this story was so bad. It was a stand up and cheer when he got what was coming to him.

Any additional comments?

Reading the Titan Series in order is the best way to read these books.

Darkest and most violent of the series.

Things got real heavy in this Titan book. Until now, the military style alpha male romances had fight scenes and our heroes and heroines getting hurt in tough situations, but the kids always lived and the couples triumphed over danger and harm.
This book starts with a girl seeing her entire family violently killed, doubles down with a rape scene in the middle, and ends with revenge being served in graphic, bloody fashion. Through it all, both main characters are tortured by their own crazy mental health traumas.
At times listening to this, I wasn’t sure I wanted such dark, heavy themes in my guns-n-amorous Titan romances. But, aside from romances, I do enjoy gritty, sometimes dark and violent books in other genres. I like Lee Child’s Jack Reacher books and am loving RS Belcher’s Brotherhood of the Wheel (talk about dark).
In the end, I found I cared more about these two than some of the MCs in the previous books. In part, that was because the stakes were so viscerally real. The fact that Rocco and Caterina were knocked down so hard and so many times, and doggedly fought for their HEA made it so much more rewarding to get to the victorious end of their journey... especially with respect to Rocco, who I was so proud of at the end compared to his bachelor loving self in the beginning. Once he was in, he was all in, and there for Catrina.
If you only want the rough and tumble, Sugar/Jared-style smoking hot, yet fun and sassy, trademark Titan romance, this one may be too dark for you: you won’t suffer for skipping over this one. If you can handle violent themes mixed in with your warrior romance, this is one of the better written, more complex Titan books.

A little bit of a tearjerker

I enjoyed how Catalina overcame her revenge and became a woman who could fall in love with Rocco a man that was scared of falling in love ,but in the end became the perfect husband

Good book

Buyer beware there is a rape scene, I personally skipped. Other then that it was a good book. At some points the leading lady seemed a little to girly instead of the assassin/interrogator she was supposed to be.

Savage Secrets

Savage Secrets is listed here as book 4 but if you include the novellas (which you should) it's book 7. Great story. very emotional and traumatic. Warning: There is sexual assault. Well written.
HEA and no cliffhanger.

Narration by Jeffrey Kafer was great as always.

Savage Secrets

Another adventure of intrigue and love with one of the Titan "ain't ever going to settle down with one woman" guys. The bad guy is really a nasty piece of work. The lady after him happens to be pretty dangerous herself. She and Jared have history and Rocko is going to make history with her if if he has any say--and can get her out alive.
