About this listen

An angsty, steamy, why choose second chance romance from bestselling author Abby Millsaps.

No more running.

It’s a promise I’m making to myself. It’s also the vow I’ve given to each of the four men who came together in my darkest time of need.

Even when I was taken against my will and trapped in the confines of my own mind, unable to access my memories, they never gave up on me.

When I see the way they look at me—and in some cases, the way they look at each other—I know that what we have is rare. Ours is a love worth fighting for. A love worth staying for. And that’s exactly what I intend to do.

I choose them:

Greedy—my first love and deepest heartbreak.
Levi—my not-so-fake boyfriend and personal ray of sunshine.
Spence—my dominating, steadfast lover.
Sione—my soul match and saving grace.

I choose them. All of them, in every way they’re willing to have me.

It’s a dream come true to have them all together, gathered under one roof. But dreams don’t always keep. Especially not when a narcissist parent is involved.

There’s nothing my mother won’t do to get her way. Thankfully, Spence has a plan, and for the first time, every member of our group is on board.

Magnolia St. Clair is a worthy opponent, but she’s no match for the British billionaire who will stop at nothing to protect what’s his.

No more running.

It’s time to stay and fight, and to reclaim the happily ever after we all deserve.

So Rare is the third book in the Boys of South Chapel series. A full list of tropes and triggers can be found on the author’s website.

this dynamic is so good!

What a doozy this one was! If you haven't read the first two books - go back!

Book 3 in the series starts off with a bang, with the search for Hunter on. The suspense on how and why she's missing is palpable and as these men are just finding their dynamic, they have to trust in each other to get their girl back. The trauma that Hunter experiences causes her amnesia and grappling with that makes the delicate balance of their unique relationship dynamic that much more precarious. Seeing all of them find their way and make space for each other was so beautiful to see. Especially when Sione makes his appearance and although it surprises everyone, his presence brings a sense of peace and solace that completes the 5 of them altogether.

Sione is Hunter's lover from her time in Italy and the way he centers her - mind, body, and soul - helps Hunter find her way back to everyone. His declaration of demisexuality is so unique and one I've never seen in a romance novel but I love it. Understanding what that means and how that works within their unit was what brought all of them together that helped solidify the foundation of their relationship. His unabashed way of proclaiming and owning his sexuality is what inspires Greedy to better understand himself and his place within the unit, bringing everyone closer. I loved seeing the flashbacks to their time together in Italy, understanding their dynamic and watching him love her wholeheartedly in every phase while she struggles with her PMDD.

As you can imagine the spice in this book is no joke! But what I love is that every interaction that they share has so much meaning and intention behind it. It adds to solidifying their relationships with each other and heals Hunter in every facet of who she is. They all bring a love and peace to her that gives her the strength to stay instead of run and to fight her mother so that they can all live in peace. When Spence puts all the pieces into play, everyone is in the dark on what exactly is going to happen, but they trust him and each other to end Magnolia and her control on Hunter and their future. The cliffhanger on this one is just as good and I am so ready for the last book!

Wow this audio cast was wonderful. June DeBorahae is amazing as Hunter. The way she portrayed Hunter through her struggles but finding her strength and taking control of her life was beautiful. The pain was palpable and the joy was jubilant - I'm so glad I found this narrator what a hidden gem! Liam Dicosimo and J River Pierce reprised their roles and were fantastic as Greedy and Liam. Keval Shah embodied Spence and the charm and power this character has and adding Julio Maxwell was the cherry on top of this epic sundae! I love his performance as Sione! Dynamic and powerful performances like these are why I love audiobooks!

Book 3 was better than 1 &2

Book 3 was better than book one and two. There was more context between all characters and better drama throughout the book which pulls you in. But the ending sucked.

un amor para Hunter

WOW. What an incredible job all these amazing narrators did! June DeBorahae; J. River Pierce; Liam Dicosimo; Keval Shah; Julio Maxwell.
Hunter’s story is one full of strong emotions and I liked how each chapter is done with clarity, cadence and well, emotion. I must say I really liked June DeBorahae’s work! It’s my first time listening to her voice and it’s safe to say she’d enter my top narrators list.
In this book, the boys’ relationship is strengthen when trying to get back to Hunter. I wanted to hug Levi a lot, he’s prob the soft one and he deserves so much. Greedy had me smiling ear to ear as he’s coming more comfortable with his feelings. Spence is the one who took charge and who makes everyone feel protected, appreciated and loved. And Sione, he’s the light in the darkness, a beautiful soul. Hunter is well taken care of by her men.
That ending thooo, can’t wait to know what’s next!

The Narration was amazing!

This was a first for me that all the characters had their own narrator. It was amazing to hear all the guys different voices along with Hunters. All of them did a good job! Was hooked to the story the whole time! And that cliffhanger…..
